I use keepass across three PCs and an Android phone. I keep the database synchronised using Google Backup and Sync. This means I can make changes on whatever device I am using at the time.0

I have depended on LastPass for years but I would no longer recommend it.
It is not free on mobile and they have doubled the price.
Worst of all the development has been awful for last few years, to the point where functionality has been lost.
It simply does not work with Firefox, for example will not fill in on eBay and a lot of main sites.
There is a forum, it used to be public but the users were saying so many negative things they made it users only with access via your Master Password, this is a fundamental security flaw as the whole point of having a security manager is not to duplicate your passwords and NEVER to use your master password for any other purpose.
I tried exporting all my data buy it was a dogs dinner and it does not export all fields you save in Lastpass.
Some years ago Microsoft was forced to offer an OPEN file format so that there was interoperability with other software, or else be exclused from procurement rules.
LastPass would fail those rule.
The forum is unresponsive at best or hostile at worst.
In the past they promised a move to a new version would fix a plethora of problems, it made it worse and so I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Lastpass is also very slow, to be honest it would probably be easier to type them manually, especially when it does not work on sites.
One problem I have is that I can't make any updates to my vault unless I go to lastpass first and log into the site.
There was a time when I could have lastpass on 10 different PC's and it synced them all, now it loses passwords or secure notes if I try that. Hell I do not have confidence that It will save a single password so I save them to onenote until I know they have been sucessfully saved in Lastpass.
Some people have suggested that it can't handle the volume of passwords, so it all seems to work at first but then goes very wrong.
I do not know, the software has always been buggy
Also the User interface has become AWFUL massive while space and then dialog boxes that do not fit on the screen.
I will give you an example, say I want to disable autofill here are the steps:
1. Click on LastPass Icon in browser toolbar
2. Click Show Matching Sites (wait 3 secs for sites to load)
3. Choose entry you want to change
4. Click Spanner
5. Select Edit
6. Wait 4 seconds for it to load
7. Despite there being a menu at bottom you have to scroll to bottom to select advance opions
8. Having Selected Advanced options it scrolls you all the way back to the top
9. Tick Disable Autofill
10. Click Save
You see the 10 steps but it is just tedious, especially when after all that you get an error
Lastpass randomly logs out which would be fine but it forgets my email despite it being ticked to remember it.
Another bug, if I tell it to generate a secure password, it forgets my default settings of 24 character password length, again a huge dialog box but options not visible, so I have to select advanced options, those options could easily fit but badly designed screen with massive gaps between options so you have to scroll yet again, then you have to change the options that it has failed to remember, for example to use special characters in my passwords. So I have to do that every time.
Now Lastpass has abandoned firefox users pre V57, you are forced to move to V57 if you want to upgrade to the next buggy version (Lastpass uses users as guinea pigs rather than perform User Acceptance Testing),.
When you use a browser like firefox the real utility is the add-ons, so you can't move to a major vcersion like V57 until all the add-ons you depend on are ready. Two of my favourite add-ons are not there yet and several do not work properly in V57, so I have no intention of upgrading until the bugs have been ironed out and the add-ons work.
I have tried other browser with similar problems, the most stable is probably Opera but that lacks the critical functionality I get from Firefox add-ons
Lastpass has a vault for managing your passwords, this too has suffered the UI problem of these useless software developers, huge whitespace, massive logos at the expense of being able to see your passwords with just a few visible at a time.
There are other problems but too much time to lay them all out here, sadly the oldest versions offered a much better and tighter use interface, it also just worked. I really think that they should go back to V2 and start over. Probably give their users 15" laptops not 24 inch screens to develop on.
Lastpass was sold to LogMeIn which did not see any improvements in software development, now Citrix has bought LogMeIn, prices have doubled but the software is still a dogs dinner.
The worst part of Lastpass is that it has your data, so they have you by the short and curlies, I would seriously advise you NOT to use it,0 -
Nice. And is that included in the free version (again, it looks like it but confirmation would be nice)?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
Firefox will usually offer to save all your passwords, on PC and laptop. They are available to read and check anytime, at least on Firefox 64 bit.
Tools - Options - Privacy and Security - Saved Logins - Show Passwords.
DON'T FORGET to "Hide Passwords" before closing Options.
Saving passwords in browsers is not secure.0 -

etc. etc.
It is free on Mobile....I use it on mine.
It works well on Firefox and I have no problem with it logging in to eBay.
Never found it to be slow. It instantly populates the correct fields.
I've never had it log out on me, unless told to do so.
It's up and working on FF 60+.
List view in the vault is fine for my viewing.
I use it on FF and Opera and my Mobile, all from the free version.
Sounds like you have an axe to grind with them from having a bad experience that's maybe not suffered by others.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I was going to post similar excepting that I use Chrome, I've got a LOT of passwords (including all my works ones) and it's never done any of the things that @RandomQ claims. Strange.0 -
I use safe in cloud
It syncs across all my devices via Dropbox in my case, although there are other options for cloud storage. It's very easy to use and I've found it reliable.0 -

I use KeeperSecurity. It is a subscription based service (£21 pa for UK users) but I would rather pay a ((small) charge that ensures the service will always be there and always be secure. I don't trust that a free service will have the turnover to keep my passwords secure against all current and future threats. Sometime free isn't good.
I also pay for commercial antivirus software for my laptop as there is data on it that is important to me.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
