Bus stop/shelter to be relocated in front of my house

Well, even if I am a "Nimby", the developer is a much bigger Nimby for buying up a plot of land that already had a bus stop in front of it and expecting it to be moved to suit their design.
The issue isn't so much the granting of the planning permission but with the decision taken on where precisely the bus stop is to be relocated (which is a joint decision between the council and the transport authority) and the lack of transparency on that. I will be looking into suggesting alternative locations.
The precise guidelines governing the yellow "exclusion zone" of bus stops will be something to look at as well, since the zones on this stretch are unusually long compared to other sites I've seen in this city, even on main roads with a 40mph limit.
This bus route is on a residential estate, which originally had a 30mph limit and now has a 20mph limit. I would therefore argue that it is ridiculous to have such long exclusion zones (they are approximately double the length of the ones I've seen on main roads with a 40mph limit).0 -
Aye, right.
Let us know the result.

You might be able to object on technical grounds that the final location decision did not conform to procedures. For example, a notice should have been placed at the actual final planned location for x weeks.
Councils are quite prone to paying compensation as it's other peoples money so that may be worth pursuing if the final decision is inevitable.
You just made that up.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

The developer is likely to have paid, directly or indirectly via a s.106 agreement to have it moved as part of the process of gaining planning permission for "their design".
This option may also be available to you.0 -

I hope you're right on that. I didn't mind the bus stop being in its present position, but I know that having the bus stop or its associated yellow line/box outside the house would definitely have put me off buying it.
It's not in a particularly desirable area in the first place, so anything that is likely to put off future buyers is a concern to me.0 -
Think of it another way - you've now got your own personal bus stop - surely that must add value to the property0

Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

agree as a bus user having a bus stop close would certainly be a positive for me.
It was close enough where it was, without affecting my parking or access to my driveway. If they're moving it to where I believe they are, the on-street parking will be gone - and I am likely to have idiots blocking my driveway, which is a problem on other sections of this road where parking is limited.
This is an outer city former council estate, so most potential buyers do drive and parking is definitely a consideration. The bus route is useful for getting to the city centre (but nowhere else) and is unlikely to outweigh the loss of parking as a selling point.
At this stage, nobody has even had the courtesy to tell me where exactly the stop is to be moved either.0
