PM - how about putting the money away towards a deposit for somewhere out of London. Will give you focus to keep off the cigarettes.

CM - well done for keeping off smoking. So much better for your health and your purse.

PM if you want ou of London save for a holiday maybe I know it's not what you mean but it's still a way out for a week or two ;)

Thankfully I was never much more than a social smoker but knocked it on the head when I was at uni and a cuppa / ciggy with my friend watching supermarket sweep in the afternoon was becoming very much a habit. Now I'm too tight with £ to start again :rotfl:

PM - was going to suggest the same thing about an 'escape London' fund. Or even a 'days out doing some stuff I wouldn't normally do in London' fund? I know you suffer with stress / anxiety so the latter might seem a bit mad, but perhaps if you can manage to see some more of the fun side of London while you're living there it won't seem as bad. After all, people come from all round the world to visit, and many dream of living there so might be fun to enjoy it while you are there and not regret having missed out on some things later in life when you move. x

Thanks all, still cig free, day. 3 now. Dh doesn't want to leave London but I really don't like it here. We don't drive and I don't travel very well so we never leave London. For me it's to busy here and bult up. Dh doesn't ever want to buy a place and tbh I doubt we ever could anyway so feel very much stuck in London. It's also so expensive and despite living here for 4.5 years its not a place were you know anyone.

Will have to stick to dreams of buying a place out of London with some land and animals.

    Xx

:rotfl: - nearly all painted now - just skirting boards to do. Freezer and washer are now in new utility room :D, got loads of spare room in kitchen now!
Got one radiator working in bedroom but second one has a leak - looks like plasterer may have punctured the pipe :( - builder coming this morning to find the leak. No point starting the floor yet.
Have got curtain poles but new bed and wardrobe will have to wait - she will use her existing ones. We will be able to get the cot out the loft and leave it up soon for FB's in DD2's old room :j
    Morning all :D
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D
