Agreed:T
This house is "neither fish nor fowl".
It's not got character on the one hand. It's not "modern - move straight in" on the other hand.0 -
I think it is overpriced for a house that needs total modernisation.0

Sadly I can't get past the first few pictures. I think the style of house from the kerb is a love it or hate it, and although you are getting viewings I suspect some are just people time wasting you by seeing what they can afford rather than being serious purchasersAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0

Translated imo into:
5 minutes from a quiet beach = good....good...
local industrial estate nearby = oh dear Problem
up the road from local military base = well I suppose it would come in handy to be so close to a military base if one was demonstrating outside nearest military base:cool:. Save time getting to the demonstration and one could have mates back afterwards for coffee, etc:). Can't see any advantages to having a military base close by basically. Definitely downside time in actual fact.0 -
I remain puzzled at all the very valid comments in this thread which would be applicable to a situation where there has been no interest and no viewings, but that isn't OP's problem as there has been no shortage of viewings, so the lack of a sale obvs *isn't* anything to do with the pics / decor / price / perceived lack of kerb appeal.
Presumably everyone has access to Streetview so they can see what's around before they even book a viewing, so it can't be location either.
So then what *is* it that's putting them off making an offer, aside from not being proceedable?
Maybe OP needs to have a word with the agent about needing to qualify buyers properly...?
EDIT
Just seen it's up with Tepilo. This could be one of those occasions where a local high st EA might be a better bet.0 -

If the downstairs khasi doesn't have a hand sink it would not IMO be fit for use as a khasi. If space is the issue there are two options. One is a corner sink and the other is the combined cistern and sink where the latter is set into the top of the former.
It's not a bad house at all but in all honesty, if that were me and I wanted to shift it, I'd actually take it off the market, fix all the stuff that's not helping it, and then remarket it in a couple of months.- the exposed brickwork has to go - it isn't attractive brickwork, it's got mortar smears everywhere and it looks like somebody's abandoned DIY.
- Plaster the study, put a lino floor down and an IKEA rug on top (IKEA do some things really well, and rugs are one of them; like Habitat but with a nought knocked off the price).
- Plaster the khasi, half-tile it and fit a handsink.
- The bathroom's fine but jazz it up with some nice (matching) towels, preferably the same ones throughout the house. Again, IKEA is good for these.
- Do something with the garden. It's completely featureless. Even if it's just a few tubs and a patio set. A couple of grasses in pots either side of the front door would be a bit welcoming.
- Fill up bleak corners with houseplants.
- The mid-century stuff does it no favours. At best it looks like you haven't a clue what you like because it's all mismatching bits from one room to the next. At worst, it looks like you furnished it from a junk shop. I would seriously consider finding someone or somewhere to store the current furniture, and temporarily refurnish the place with cheapo IKEA units that at least match within rooms - i.e. you'd have mirrors, bedside tables and wardrobes all from range Sven or whatever. It will give it a palette and a theme.

OMG I will never put my house on here, you bunch of Rottweilers you
I have never lived in MOD properties but I would imagine it can have quite a community feel rather than twitching curtains and housewives handing out socks obv a Sunday0 -
There's no actual Military presence here btw. There's no soldiers or tanks or anything. The posh Garrison houses are all refurbished from historic c19th properties. The entrance by the beach is to Qinetic which does munitions testing far out in the estuary.
There's an industrial estate just under a mile away whoever referred to that. I wouldn't say it has any relevance to a lack of sale.
I can have a re-shoot of the photos with our stuff in it I suppose. The hooks in the junction are for bikes lol, but I thought it would show the room better without all our mtb gear in there.
As for complete modernisation...!! I agree the kitchen could do with redoing, but everything else is pretty good.
I'm certainly not going to move my furniture out to replace it with some chipboard tutt from IKEA lol. You lot are harsh, but the feedback's been good.
Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks eh? Wouldn't it be dull if we all liked the same thing.0
