Seen a car for £9500 on the internet. Arnold Clark. In Scotland and I am in Sheffield, so I cant view and hope it is not bait.

Can find a similar car for £10k range on the various internet websites.

How much layaway does Arnold Clark have? Brand new car.

Hyundai dealership want 10500 base, plus £550 paint, so £11k.

Reckon if I get servicing (£600-900) rear reverse sensor (£300) gap insurance £300, they will let me have the car for £10k?

Or even at £10k Am paying too much?

Hyundai offer 5 year warranty and I like the car. Not willing to budge on the type of car as it has built in Sat Nav and I really like the car. Expecting to have the car for a good few years (had my last one 6 and only sold as moved countries) and i do not want to trade in unless babies.

I have already paid a £500 sort of good will gesture - I have not ordered the car or been approved finance, I believe I can get it the five hundred back but with resistance. But I dont want to go to Scotland for a car and want to keep with my current dealer. Would rather spend a little bit extra but not to much (trains and time).

Thanks in advance

Yes I am an idiot and this forum doesn!!!8217;t like contracted words

Have you checked the brokers for a price? E.g. https://www.broadspeed.com and https://www.drivethedeal.com?

Broadspeed has an equal priced car
    DriveTheDeal doesn’t have Hyundai’s.

Deleted it as it seems the forum does like contracted words and it has lots of numbers.

So what exactly is the £500 for ?? In 30yrs of buying cars I'm not aware of ever paying a 'good will gesture' ?

:rotfl: It's referred to as a deposit.

The "contracted words" problem is well known to the forum (see complaints in feedback) and is due to whatever device you are using to post having "Smart Punctuation" turned on. Turn it off and all will be well.

What does the receipt they gave you for the £500 say?

So whats it for then if you havent ordered a car or committed to one?

Have you not just effectively given them money for no reason at this point?
