Will GP's still sign passport forms?

Don't worry too much about that though it is just an informal question and answer type of interview.
Gosh, really? I had no idea, that never used to be the case.
Where do you have to go? I can't really go far or for a long time due to disabilities.
It seems like a bit of a fuss, especially if they are going to interview me and see me in person, why do you need the photo signed in the first place?0 -
Most people are quite pleased to be asked to sign passports, I work with nurses and most are really happy to sign passport forms for friends and their children. It's a subject that comes up most summers. It certainly isn't putting them out, it's not like you're asking them for money or anything.0

Your local passport office will have a list of places my OH had to travel 20 miles to an office located within a magistrates court, the interview took place by videolink.0 -
Do you have a CPN or social worker? Or anyone else you see to support with your disabilities who could sign? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I feel for you I nearly have the same problem. Luckily I know a teacher otherwise I would be stumped!
I would ask your doctor and explain the difficulties you have in getting a signature, even if they don't help all their patients, they might do it for you as you have medical reasons why it is difficult for you.
Regarding going for an interview is this just first passports or when an old one that has expired has been lost?0 -
It can be someone who is a member of a professional body, so an accounting technician, physiotherapist, surveyor, estate agent, indexer, etc could all sign if they've maintained their membership. Some can sign because they are public servants due to who their employer is. So you might know people without realising they can sign for you. A friend asked on Facebook if any of her friends who had known her for long enough were qualified to sign, and had a few positive responses.
I mean, I meant what I said in my other post, I really don't have many relationships with people, so I really have nobody to ask. I don't know people, so there's nobody who I am not thinking of.
I don't have Facebook or anything like that.
I know it can be hard for other people to understand, but I'm very isolated in life at present.0 -

Good grief, 20 miles is quite a way to have to travel. I didn't know about this. My local passport office is quite far it would seem (had a google).
They're really not making it easy, and when you consider they may ask for you to have a passport in order to vote in the future, it makes you think. There's the money to travel there that some people would have to factor in.0 -

No, I don't have anyone at all. I've tried to get someone but I've had very little support.
I've tried to join support groups too, but they're really far for me to travel to.0 -

It's not that I don't appreciate your difficulties but surely the whole point of having a passport is to travel?
Yes it can be expensive particularly if you won't use it that often but travel is expensive. That applies whether it's 20 miles to the passport office or hundreds/thousands for a foreign trip.0
