There must be somebody, a neighbour for instance (of good standing) who has known you for two years?

Dentist is on the list - you probably see them twice a year so should know you? Optician? Boss at work? And remember the list is examples, not a full definitive list, call the advice line given if you're unsure. But unless you're a hermit you will know someone - though if you've moved recently they might be far away I guess.

Thanks for the replies everyone, sorry, been a hectic day here, not much chance to reply.

The thing is, I am kind of a hermit, I have disabilities and don't get our too much. I also have a problem with aspergers and I struggle to ask people for help/favours, it's really hard for me to ask anyone for anything for myself.

I think I'll try my doctor, if not, I have no idea.

I don't know why it's really needed now, if you have a birth certificate and proof of ID, including a photo driver's license, which has been issued, it makes no sense and seems outdated now.

Well, I've just renewed my passport online; my old one expired 2 years ago.
For the new one I took a photo with my iPhone and uploaded it.
I got my new passport in 10 days and they sent me texts and emails showing progress.

Renewing a passport is easy, unless your facial features have changed dramatically you don't need the photos to be signed, the problem the OP has is finding someone to verify him/her for (I'm guessing) a first passport.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

That's great, but I need a new passport and not a renewal, and so will need the photos signed for me to get one.

Is it your first passport ? If so I think you'll need to go for a face o face interview....

It is, although I as on an adult one as a child.

Surely I don't need a face to face interview if I was born in this country?

If its your first passport - yes you do.
Don't worry too much about that though it is just an informal question and answer type of interview.

It can be someone who is a member of a professional body, so an accounting technician, physiotherapist, surveyor, estate agent, indexer, etc could all sign if they've maintained their membership. Some can sign because they are public servants due to who their employer is. So you might know people without realising they can sign for you. A friend asked on Facebook if any of her friends who had known her for long enough were qualified to sign, and had a few positive responses.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

I'm very isolated, this is my point, I hardly see anyone and due to my disabilities, I don't really have any friends. I've seen the list, but as I know hardly anyone, and nobody I feel comfortable asking a favour of, I have nobody I can ask sadly.
