Your minimum period is over, over that either party can give 30 days notice to terminate the contract

A search of all notes/ calls under the GDPR regulations will discover what they have. I've had notification for Virgin Mobile contracts i have in 2005 as part of the GDPR recently.

I agree it's fairly unlikely but if the evidence is there then some leverage for compensation or other deal is there.

I moved 3 sims to virgin 4 months ago. Price is going up 50%.

I was on a different Virgin £5/month deal for a couple of years, but for the last 2 years the % increase was quite significant so I've just switched to 1p Mobile in the last few days - I'm not a heavy user, so it'll save me money. Switching wasn't as much of a hassle as I expected.
