@neil49. Sorty i dont know how to tag or quotr.
Thankyou, i will definatly be at the market ha. Im staying near the windmill roundabout just infront of paloma park. Do you have any tips about things to do and things to avoid? Any good bars that cater for families?. But saying that not aimed at small children, more of a teenager scene!.

We are going to give tivoli world a miss as it seems its more aimed at younger children with only 2 'big' rides. DD is 14 and i think she will be too big and not interested in going there. So thats saved us a chunk of money.

OH and DD are looking forward to the cable car ride, thats a huge no for me as i hate heights so ill be staying at the hotel lounging around the pool.

I'm sure you will be but do take your medication in your hand luggage and keep it with you. DH once left his in his suitcase which got lost! Having a copy of the prescription is just belt and braces just in case you lost yours or had to stay on longer for some reason.

I don't know if you'll have a washing machine in your accommodation. I used to refuse to do washing on holiday but now I've changed my mind entirely. I take some washing tablets with me as they're easy to pack. I wash everything before we come home. It dries so easily out there then I don't have washing mountain to face when I get back. As I rarely wear my sunshine holiday clothes in this country I just pack it all away until next time. I've just done last year's ironing ready for our holiday next month!:rotfl:

Lost suitcases: it's never happened to me, but I always split the packing between the two cases. So the smaller one has the heavy stuff in (shoes, books, washbags etc) but always one set of clean clothes, and the other has the rest of the clothes.

When five of went to the USA, there was a set of pants and socks for EVERYONE in each case ... but then they each had the rest of 'their' clothes in 'their' case.

And never assume that everyone else in your party packs the way you do, and therefore that they'll be able to find what you put into their suitcase. USA again, DS2 could not find his swimming trunks ANYWHERE so we bought a new pair. Coming home, he found his spare shoes - packed with underwear, socks and swimming trunks ...

I always have an A4 piece of paper with my name, mobile number and address of the hotel on it inside the suitcase on top of my clothes If it does get lost there is at least a chance it might find me

On return write your home address etc on the other side

    Never needed it yet

I usually take a disposable plastic poncho - pound shop - if going somewhere warm and I don't really need an English coat - saves you getting soaked

Be aware of the Ryanair hand luggage rules. If it's too large to fit under the seat in front of you, it might get taken off you at the gate and put in the hold, so make sure it contains no valuables, nothing breakable and nothing you need on the flight. Or that you can take any such items out and put them in your pockets etc if they take the bag off you.

Can't remember the exact dimensions but it'll be on their site.

Excellent tip about taking an extension with multiple sockets. I would never have thought of that but thinking about it, its a brilliant idea.
As long as you use one with a lead - don't take a block plug as you'll probably find it falls off - adapter with a block plug and 3 plugs can be quite heavy and european plug sockets don't hold the plug as firmly.

You probably won't but never use for high power devices, eg hairdryer, travel kettle etc. They should be plugged in direct, and even then sometimes they exceed the max amps on the adapter. Chargers should be fine.
