    I can't vote as I don't know how that would affect me financially.
    It's nothing , not nothink.

    for those interested the lead is increasing, 25-3

    Thanks BoP.

    The lead has now increased to 31-3, a huge lead going into thursday evening, lets see what the change is on friday.

    You devalue the word "scam" by using the word about something that's clearly subject to contract law and you get what you pay for. You may not agree with the terms of the contract and are free to not take it out or negotiate the terms.

    If you'd said that 40Gb! or 80Gb speeds! are the scam then you may be on firmer ground.

    But this is not a scam.

    It's not a surprise is it though. Has their EVER been a thread in this forum with the word 'scam' in the title that actually WAS a scam? :rotfl:

    Now that probably would be a scam because a "Gb" isn't a measure of speed!

    Do you mean that I obviously meant Mb instead of Gb, or that a more accurate speed would be Gb/s?

    Agree
    I voted, but I actually don't think I understand the question... I thought by time limited you meant I would by one hour of internet, and I'd rather it be done by MB rather than time, in the same way I buy my utilities by KwH rather than by day.

    If you're referring to monthly limits, then I still agree with those. They're usually reasonably priced, and much better than buying PAYG. My 10GB limit probably costs me the same as getting about 1GB (and most likely less) than if I had paid by the MB. If it gets wasted, my problem, but I like having a fixed cost and knowing I don't need to worry about buying more data.

    Gb = Gigabit
    Mb = Megabit

    Both of which are a measure of volume rather than speed

    A measure of speed is the volume over the time , so Mb/s or Gb/s
    (Megabits per second or Gigabits per second)

    I knew what you meant though ;)

    I meant as AndyPix has explained above that you need to have the "/s" per second (or other time unit) to make it a measure of speed.

    Some people do say "40 Mb Broadband" when they are referring to a 40 Mb/s broadband speed, so some people don't know the difference.

    I'm all for accuracy, especially in an engineering or scientific setting. However you're being a bit facetious given the forum and audience.

    If you look at some of the biggest broadband providers you will find they quote broadband speed in Mb:

    https://www.productsandservices.bt.com/broadband/fibre/
    Average speeds of 67Mb will allow you to do more online

    https://www.plus.net/home-broadband/

    It's not right but it's common parlance.
