Topcashback - £70 cashback claim declined, not satisfied with reason given for decline. Options?

I recently purchased a TV from Currys.co.uk. I accessed the site through Topcashback before making the purchase. At the time of the purchase, which was in March 2018, Topcashback was displaying an offer for £70 cashback on new TV purchases over £1000. There is a screenshot of the offer here (scrolI down to 4th post). I noticed the cashback did not track after a week of purchasing the TV. I opened a missing cashback claim on TCB and received this response.
After looking into your claim further for you, I am sorry to tell you that your claim has been declined as the network has not identified ourselves as the last referral to the merchant’s site and this transaction.
As I am sure you can appreciate, if we have not been identified as the last referral, the merchant does not pay the cashback to ourselves so we are unable to pass this back onto you. Unfortunately, as this is the nature of cashback, we cannot guarantee that you will always be successful in retrieving your cashback, although we do strive to recover as many as the missing claims as we can.
Please be assured that we have tried our hardest to recover your expected cashback for this claim by exploring all channels with no success.
I am very sorry that we were unable to claim your expected cashback for you on this occasion and we are as disappointed as you on this decision.
I hope future transactions run smoothly for you in the future.
Best Wishes,
Adam
I have made purchases in the past which haven't tracked, but I have always subsequently received the cashback after making a claim. This is my first declined claim after six years of using TCB. I am dissatisfied with the reason provided by TCB for the cashback being declined. I am certain that I followed the correct procedure for earning cashback. I accessed the merchant's site through TCB, added item to basket and completed the purchase in one session. I no longer have any confidence in using TCB for larger purchases. Has this happened to anyone else? Should I push them further for some kind of goodwill gesture?

Sounds like topcashback claim you didn't click to Currys website when you recently purchased.
https://www.topcashback.co.uk/account/earnings/clicks
Check the purchase date of the TV and check it against the clicks page on topcashback and it will show if you actually clicked out of the site to Currys, Having ad blockers and tracker blockers will also prevent anything from being successful if you have any of that.0 -
If you only used TC in 1 go and never went to Curry's before using TC and followed the rules about clearing history and cookies before the transaction was carried out then you should of been paid but the "cashback" is only a "bonus" if you get paid.
If that is TC final reply then you should just move on and maybe stop using cashback sites as they are not guaranteed to pay out.0 -
TCB are not going to give you a "goodwill gesture". They do not and never have guaranteed that you will receive cashback and anyone using them should never base a purchase expecting them to do so. Did you not understand this bit of the email they sent you "Unfortunately, as this is the nature of cashback, we cannot guarantee that you will always be successful in retrieving your cashback".
Cashback from these sites should always be viewed as a bonus, nothing more.0 -
I had something similar with Quidco a while back and I've deliberately not used them since.0

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do. I have had this before and missed out on over £60 of cashback even though I followed the link and did everything correct.

People do research prior to purchase , sometimes getting an item into their basket and the remember cashback . A cookie on Curry's site remembers that.
You then click from topcashback but as Curry's remember you it's attributing it to the prior visit so ignoring topcashback. Use of other coupons can also stop cashback.
Always use a different browser for topcashback purchases .Ex forum ambassador

It happened to me with policy expert car insurance £81.25 declined even though I never visited them prior to going through TCB. I will never use policy expert car insurance again now. I agree use a different browser. I mainly use firefox but for tcb I only use Microsoft edge0

Did you check out other cashback sites at the same time or use a discount code of some sort?
When this happened to me, I'd got several browser windows open to check out different options including two for the retailer and in retrospect I think I possibly closed the window I'd opened through TCB and left the other open by mistake.
Could you have done something similar? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Did you find the tv you wanted, then go to TC to see if there were any cash back deals on?
I mean no one just sits scrolling through TCB and goes, !!!8216;that!!!8217;s a good deal I!!!8217;ll go spend £1k on a TV!!!8217; but you have to make it seem like you did, ie clear cookies etc0
