Moving up the paint chart nicely now and with another couple of sessions in the sun I may well hit nutmeg beige :D Yesterday went bowling with my mentee and another mentor with her lad. Stuck with a very light ball and did pretty well ...more of a fluke than any skill though.

Will crack on with some work this morning then hopefully get a bit of garden time this afternoon I managed to finish my rattan table construction and it looks lovely so will probably eat al fresco today Im feeling a ploughmans again or maybe a chicken caesar.

Have a lovely day all and enjoy this weather while its here :A

Good morning to one and all,

    Grey skies again.

Well yesterday I had my Skype interview. It lasted 40 minutes (after some technical difficulties to begin with). It went well, I suppose. The job is the same as I'm doing now, albeit a slight promotion, at a better company, so I knew the answers to all the questions. It's just the first stage of the interviews this week, so I hope to hear back next week.

I'll be sure to keep you all posted.

Helped weed my mums garden again, only for an hour, before playing football.

Tonight, I'll perhaps stay a little bit later in work and then go to my mums and help in the garden again.

AoD - Happy birthday!!! You don't look a day over 30.
Silver-Oldie - Wow. A fantastic age and nice to hear she was in positive spirits too.

    AOD happy birthday!

Am currently sitting in sunshine on the allotment as I'm off work today. Should really do some weeding before its too warm (sorry those on the east coast :o) but movement will probably scare the squirrels who are playing chase along the fences! Will pull some rhubarb for jam & cut the 4 asparagus spears for my tea :) Also need to acquire some courgette, french bean & kale plants from the nursery garden later.

Judi hope Grump becomes less so for the long weekend
Holly enjoy your time with your brother
Nelski can I borrow you to assist in deciding paint colours for our hall & stairs? Nutmeg beige sounds just right! :D
Gers we don't have a sea view but live about 15 minutes walk from the Prom with its 3 piers & Tower...I love watching the sparkles from the sun :)

    Happy birthday AOD.

Have a lovely weekend Holly and camelot.

The roofers are here! They are dropping off all the scaffolding and no doubt we'll be in trouble with the people over the back. The quickest way to the back of ours is from the road at the back over the wall into the passage and over the wall again into the back yard. The people at the back have told us that the road is private and the wall belongs to them. We have checked and neither is true (it's an estate and their house and garden are nowhere near the bit of wall behind us). I expect they will come round later - I don't think he would confront the roofer and his mates. I really can't understand people like that, we would never go over someone's land or block them in so why bother. It's like people who put "No turning" notices at the end of their driveways, does it really hurt them if someone spends ten seconds with their car wheels on their drive. Sorry, rant over.

Anyway, I have to go back to Skipton today because the optician didn't have any of DH's lens fluid in on Tuesday. I'll have the car this time because DH is working from home.

It's so cold today. I've put the heating on for an hour....Brr! Appointment made for Grump this afternoon. They tried to fob me off with a nurse but I was having none of it. He will need referring to the hospital as the 'thing' is growing bigger. Any bigger and he will turn into a reptile....His words not mine.:D

So today I'll do my own thing, avoidance is the key.

Good luck with the job Speky. Fingers crossed and all that.

Silver-Oldie Happy birthday to your Mum. When you see her next ask her if she's got any healthy living tips she would like to pass on.

Judi - that 'thing' sounds as if it really is something to get removed.

Floss - yes, it's the way that the water sparkles which is so lovely. Watching the tide turn is a soothing waste of time. Despite me being firmly a non-gardener the thought of cutting off four spears of asparagus and then eating them is very tempting. Not so much the rhubarb though.

Snoozer - exciting times for you too! Ignore the neighbour, there's always someone out to poke their 'ignorant' noses in.

Speky - well done on the interview.

Silver-oldie - happy birthday to your DM. What an age to be... I bet she never thought about reaching it.

Nelski - the gardener bloke is coming on Sunday to spread the bark. I'm keeping the local economy going single-handedly!

MoneySavingEmma - my life here is only idyllic when the sun shines! In mid-winter it's cold, damp and dreary but I wouldn't change it for anything else. It's pretty well fabulous most of the time. I feel so privileged to live this life, even when the stone cottage doesn't heat up and I'm wearing three layers of base clothes. :j
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Happy birthday AOD, I hope you have a really nice day. Heres to retirement!!

I was up and out just after 8am en route to Aldi, I was so early they had not got the super 6 out!! It was a good job I did not want any of it. All shopping done and home again just after 9.30.

My goodness its cold this morning really cutting wind, hope it break later, OH needs to stain a new plank that has been put into the shed, to replace a broken slat. I have to say, I wish I had got our local landscaper to build the shed!! This is the third one and it still has problems.

I bought free range eggs home from the B & B where we stayed. we had 4 of them last night with chips and beans, my goodness you could tell the difference..... not sure whats for supper tonight.......its a surprise!!
