Morning All
(((hugs))) to Smokey OH
Mrsmcawber - cant help with your question but (((hugs))) for your sister too.
Got up late again today - lucky the clocks go back next week so wont be as much as a shock to the system getting up early for school.
Off in a minute to make jam on toast for DS then will go in the bath. Been online to check the banks to see if our main client has paid - they havnt grrr so fingers crossed for monday.
Not going anywhere special today although I do need to pop out for dishwasher salt so the kids can have another day at home. Will be doing a little office work, some ironing (not much there at all!!) and some housework. Will be treating myself at some point to a lovely mocha with cream.
Really enjoyed the film yesterday - well worth watching.
Umm thats it for now. No idea whats for dinner tonight till I have a rummage in the freezer.

Morning all.
SMOKY - (((hugs))) to your OH - it definitely sounds infected. Hope the GP comes out asap.
SCUZZ - Good luck with the poppy sales. That's one of my favourite charities and they need more money than ever, now.
OLLIEBEAK - Caitlin is absolutely gorgeous! All that hair! My SIL is called Caitlin - it's a beautiful name. Keep us posted on her progress, please!
AMIE - have a great day. I hope the weather is better than yesterday. I'm not too far from the Isle of Wight and I've just looked out of the window. It's not as dank and gloomy as yesterday and I don't think it's as cold, either.
Well, DH up and out of the house at 7 this morning with a tummy full of porridge; BM on, WM on with sheets, bins emptied, bathroom cleaned, a letter typed out, some 'planners' and 'to-do' lists printed off from organizedhome.com (which will be stopping completely soon - I think Martin put a post up the other day telling people to print off what they needed because the site is closing down.) I plan to hoover and dust right through the house and do my food shopping today. DH is working tomorrow (he doesn't usually work on Saturdays) so I want to free the day up for baking and paperwork.
There is no change with MIL; SIL is angry because the care in the general hospital is not very good. DH was quite upset about it when she told him. Apparently, she had asked them to remove the footboard from the bed because MIL is quite tall and her feet were straining against it (even though she's unconscious), so they removed it then, when SIL went back in, someone had put it back so she had to ask again. MIL did not appear to have even had her face washed since she went in on Tuesday; they have had to tie the mouthpiece from the ventilator on and the string was cutting into her cheeks and her top half was half-uncovered exposing a breast (and this on a full ward). SIL tidied her up as best she could; she knows a lady in Cyprus who used to be a matron and is going in this morning to sort it out. My DH was so angry and upset last night - it made me cry; I suppose, to them, she is just another number but she is also someone's wife, mum and grandmother and a human being and deserves to be treated with dignity. I told DH that not all the staff would leave her like that and that, hopefully, another nurse would take care of things but it wasn't much comfort.
Well, off to clear up the breakfast things and write my shopping list out. I'm going to be busy this morning but it will be worth it to have an easier day tomorrow.
(((hugs))) to everyone and hope you all have a good day.

Good morning everyone
My posting has been very patchy recently. Not sure what's changed but I just don't seem to have time. DS and DD staying with XDH for the weekend so I thought I would try and manage a post.
Smokybabe Poor DH's leg sounds very infected. Hope it can be cleared quickly and easily. ((Hugs)) to you all.
Pen-Pin Sorry you are still feeling so carp. Hope your visitors lift your spirits today. ((hugs))
Mrs Mcawber Sorry I can't be of use re the pamper hamper. Maybe your local pharmacy would be able to give you some pointers? Well done with your continuing weight loss. Could you possibly spare some of that boundless energy you have??? Please???
JackieO noticed you have been posting on and off too. Hope you feel much better soon. ((hugs))
Snowy Noticed you posted recently too. Please come back.
Mioliere what an awful situation for your poor MiL. Maintaining dignity should be at the forefront of any treatment imho. How awful that the nurses in the hospital don't seem to agree.
W**k today (boss is away for ANOTHER holiday. ) He's back on Monday though.
Hoping the phone that I bought from Virgin is delivered today. The one that should have been delivered on Tuesday didn't arrive. When I queried it with Virgin they were told by the delivery company that it had been delivered to my neighbour around 10am. Oh no it hadn't!! Both my neighbour and I were in all day and not one delivery van passed the house. So, it looks like someone has a new *free* phone. Let's see what today brings.
Hoping to clear some clutter from the kitchen this weekend and I might try and wrap the pressies I have bought so far for DS and DD for Christmas too.
have a fabulous Friday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

((hugs)) to everyone that needs them, there's a fair few of you
Today the washing machine has gone on and we're just making toast for the boy, he always makes me think of Roly from 101 Dalmations 'I'm hungry mummy' ALL the time! He's a little piglet.
Hubby is home today as this afternoon we're off to Tetbury for the wedding. We have to finish packing and work out where our B&b is once we get there, and I need to wash my hair, but first off we have to go into town and take our library books back. I also have a voucher for a free art kit if I spend a certain amount at smiths, so I'm going to try & see if I can do that - I'm sure it won't be too difficult! I'm looking forward to it as I need some more stuff for my card making and this gives me a good excuse for spending out. The art kit will be a Christmas present!
I'm also planning to look in the charity shops for hamper fillers, stocking fillers, wool, and knitting needles - I've packed my scarf already, and am wondering if I'll be able to knit in the car - it'll be a three hour journey so that would be *great* if I could...I used to get travel sick though so I'm a bit unsure about it...
Anyway, hope the weather is nice for you all and you have good days - happy Friday!0 -
Hi all,
Mioliere - so sorry to hear how things are with your MIL. It's so upsetting when those you trust aren't treating her as they should. Hopefully it will get sorted quickly.
Well I have a nice treat of both DSs home today so I think I'll declare it a day off and enjoy their company. Obviously the day won't begin until 11 o clock (cos they're teenagers  ) so that will give me a chance to load WM and sweep round and I [strike]may[/strike] must get a chance to write my monthly menu and shopping list for pay day on Monday.
For all those with poorly ones in the house and those with the blues or worries hugs :grouphug:MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250

Morning all
Just skimmed the thread as not a regular poster but a regular reader
MRSMCAWBER Sympathy for your sis. When Mrs M had breast cancer the hair loss was a shock initially but the care we , and I mean we, received from the local NHS and McMillan was second to none. The choice of wigs was unbelievable.. every blokes fantasy was covered:rolleyes: . , no seriously, there was a very good range, and in Mrs M 's case she had one in the style that her hair was before she lost it , if you get my meaning. In fact she had 2 now I come to think of it. Ds thought it very funny that mummy was like Uncle Brian. He was only 5 or 6 at the time.
As regards radiotherapy.. if I remember correctly they advise mild things, unperfumed. Depending on the dosage of radiation ( and where it is of course) it can result in a form of sunburn. Skin has to be pat dried after washing,, and that sort of thing. The radiotherapy team will advise her - but I suspect that will be some time after the chemo. If you want more info.please PM me and I shall try and answer any questions.
How about a really soft towel as a starter for 10.
The Saga of the Rayburn continuesI think we have it cracked. Vesuvius was quiet last night so we actually got some sleep... it might have been the liberal quantities of red wine which helped though.
Right off to do some work now
Cheers

Hugs to Smokey for DH's leg & Penpin, hope you feel better soon & Mioliere for her MIL & family & JCR for her poor jaw & anyone else I've missed.
Ollie, Caitlin is beautiful & so is her name, my DD wants to call hers Delilah Norah!!!!
Pen Pen, I loved Bristol, I watched the Great Britain coming home & saw it after a lot of the work had been done, but not been back to Bristol since my divorce, my Ex is Bristolian, but I don't hold that against the rest of them, lol.
More housework to be done here today & a final decision on what to feed the inlaws on Sunday & then go & buy anything I need for that.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Hugs Hester

Good morning all! Guess what? The two three yr old nieces are back with me this morning (sister has an interview) so yet more Cinderella, Finding Nemo, Sleeping Beauty, The Lion King and slides in the park. Yipee! Already done 'their' groceries: they love their chocolate buttons and small mini-flakes in their ice-cream cones*. Hope everyone has a good remainder of the half-term. Take care out there
*Always took me a while to wonder where they stock those mini-flakes packets: not in the confectionery section but next to the ice-cream cones. I am learning!BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

Good Morning ALL
Just had the local counsillor on the phone. He said he's had highways out before (traffic calming) on our road, but it wasn't a major concern to take further action. However, due to my DS accident, he will be taking it further now. He admits there is a problem, regarding boy racers using our road as a cut through etc, so lets hope something happens now, before someone actually gets killed!
OH spent all evening job hunting again. As his job is still not safe! He's even going to apply to various stores for Seasonal work as a top up on his wages until something better comes along. He fancies a total career change and possibly go into labouring.
WM & TD on again!
Dlb - glad you enjoyed your quiet last night!
plumduff - enjoy hobbycraft - I love that place, but I only go when sales are on!
Amie - have fun today!
Kyle - can sympathise with kiddies clothes - my DD is nearly 8, wearing age 10 clothes! Luckily, we get the odd hand downs, so I think she should be ok for winter clothes!
Mrs Mcawber - well done on the weight loss (((hugs))) for your sis!
Pen-Pin - hope you get some rest!
Moiliere - OMG! I cant believe how some people cant treat others or at least have no respect for them! Im so pleased the SIL is there to take charge! Bless her - she must be exhausted!
Annibooklover - hope you get that phone sorted!
Anyway, best get ready for work
Have a great day all
Love Emma xxx
