OS Daily Thread, Friday 26th October

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 26/10/07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning
I can't believe I'm first, where are you all
Pitch black here again, still the clocks go back on Saturday night, so at least it will be lighter for a few weeks.
Got the nibbles at about 9.30 last night, so made a pack of savoury noodles, and have been awake half the night with chronic indigestion - when will I learn.
Got a new accountant coming later, so will have to have a tidy up today
Hope everyone is Ok x

Morning!
Had a very productive day yesterday. I'm now an official poppy seller for this year's appeal and a volunteer press officer for another local charity. Doing a firewalk next week - raised £100 so far, but need another £50 by next Wednesday:eek:
I've joined another pay to click site. Looks very similar to archerfish. It pays in pounds, so hoping it'll work out ok. Done today's daily clicks, just the emails to do now. Also re-activated my mutual points account. Still don't get how that one works, but I'll figure it out!!
Had a lovely HM steak and kidney pie last night and there's a mince tart waiting to be eaten too.
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Hiya charlies mum, and everyone else where are you all??
Well had a lovely peaceful evening last night with all the kids at my sisters, i cant remember ever getting all 4 of them away overnight at the same time!! I could get used to it!
I managed to get some listing done on ebay which iv been meaning to do all week, and i fell to sleep at 8.30 on settee!!
Todays plans, nip to bank and draw some money out to pay bills as its dh payday today, and quick tidy round and prepare tea and list a few more ebay bits before going to pick kids up. Bringing my nephew back to stay over as my sister is going out tonight.
I forgot to say congratulations to olliebeaks family yesterday! The hospital storys were great too, i stayed in for 6 hours with all apart from dd (now 4) when i came home after 2 hours! I hate hospitals so it was great for me not having to stay in!!
Right off to have a surf!
Catch you later

Good morning everyone, I've been up for ages but didn't know how to start a new thread, so thanks Charlies Mum.
I'm going out for the day today :j, going to the Hobbycraft Exhibition in the SECC at Glasgow. Looking forward to this, hope to buy some bargain wool and get new ideas and motivation to start something different.
Afterwards going to DS2 and his fiancee's for dinner, they live in Glasgow. DS2 on Uni placement at hospital near the SECC so he will pick me up on his way home.
I woke up early thinking of my cat who will be shut in all day till I get home, so I got up at 6 am to let her out so that she sleeps all day.
Have a great Friday!Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Morning all,
Well the best laid plans of mice and men etc, etc, I should now be in work but OH woke me up at some ungodly hour shivering and sweating and in agony with his leg. It looks quite infected to me and is very hot. It was swollen and when I touched it a load of pus came out. He is back in bed loaded up with some ibuprofen and I am killing time until I wake the kids and phone the GP at 8.30 to get him seen today.
I have some chicken portions defrosted and plan to throw a casserole in the SC before 9 o clock. I also have half a blackberry and apple pie in the fridge to use up that will be nice hot with some ice-cream.
Today's jobs are the usual hoover through, put the ironing away, the latest pile of sewing and anything else that crops up. The washing is up to date and there should only be the one load to go on tonight.to all in need today.
Right, got to go I hear the little horrors stirring.
Have a good one everyone,
Smoky. xxxxIf you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape 100 days of sorrow.......Chinese proverb

morning all.
Aime399 i'm on isle of wight. it nice down here at mo. dark and drizzley. but looks like it will clear up. Hope u have a lovely day down here.
i'm atill in agony with my tooth. well not my tooth. more my jaw. fels so bruised. taken more tablets so their kick in soon.
meant to be off to toddler group this morning. but were out of loo rolls so i'm thinking i must get to a shop very soon. but i can't be bothered to do any of it. lol.
thinking i am going to start having a big stock cupbaord somewhere. but i'm using up everything in time for xmas, instead of havign a use up month after xmas. if that makes sence.
dish washer is on, wm needs to go on , but airer is full. so will have to wait until that is dry.
hubby is working till late this evening , money is good. but i do miss him so much when he got a long day. but first time in ages he has a whole weekend off. gonna make most of it. Were meeting up with family over from mainland and going to the local zoo. plus get islanders discount so it only £3 to get in and both my kids are under 5 so they get in free. so a fairly cheap day out. then off to in-laws for dinner. lasagne yummy. then sunday clocks change so an extra hour in bed , plus we get a lay in as well. although i doubt the kids will understand how to lay in.
were having chicken curry tonight. i am gonna make myself eat chicken. since being preg i've gone off all meat , apart from mince beef. so it a real challange. but i keep trying every now and then.
hope everyone has a great day.0 -
Morning all
lost another 1kilo this weekso thats 2st2lb :j
Scuzz..... :T on doing the poppy selling.... I put in every poppy appeal box i see...only take 1 poppy though... hubby being a soldier you soon learn just how much the legion etc do for serving and ex service men... and I love the new appeal -with the "poppy man" I think its so touching.
Right folks im after a bit of help/advice.... hope no-one minds.. you remember how sis had that huge mass removed? well she saw her oncologist yesterday.. had the top man from Nottingham come to see her, It seems that he has only ever seen photos of the kind of cancer that they removed as it is so rare ...likes to be different my sis.
Anyway he says that even though they are 99%sure it isn't anywhere else , because it is such an aggresive kind (apparently they are growing it in the labs...and have asked if she will agree to being a medical case history thing as its so rare) and he says she is extremely lucky they got it when they did.. ooh im rattling... sorry.. well they have decided that she is going to have to have 6 sessions of chemo:eek: ... and have told her that she Will lose her hair - not that she is having a wig... has declared that it will be nice not to spend an hour every morning trying to make her hair look right ...and if she wants a wig she will pinch her daughters purple one..and she would too
thats my girl
Right obviously i feel as much use as a choc tea pot stuck out here... but i am planning on getting her some yummy pamper stuff(she isn't known for treating herself) - i was thinking of some lovely lotions n potions... but this is the 1st time we have ever had this illness in the family (for which im extremely grateful)... now am i right in thinking that its radio therapy that makes skin etc hurt? only i haven't really much of a clue what stuff to get her... Im thinking of getting clarins stuff as i know i find it really gentle.. but would love some ideas of what she might find helpful...
sorry for the ramble folks
Well today there isn't much to do.. have a bit of laundry to put away and a quick whizz round with the vaccume and thats me done.. oh and i want to make a loaf of bread
Dinner tonight is going to be roast chicken dinner
well i will get off as i have rambled on enough...
Hugs to everyone...and hope everyone has a lovely day-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
