House 1, but I'm not a fan of new builds as all I've heard is horror stories!0

House 1 for me too. We don't really like anything built after the 1930s unless it's a one off.0

thanks all - this is very helpful.
I have also added links to both properties to my original post if you'd like to have a look0 -
House 1 looks small and dark, it has few windows and primarily faces north. The marketing of the attic room as an attic room, rather than a bedroom is slightly curious too.
Property 2 will have all the new build issues others mention, but does seem to have more windows and light. More potential too - a loft conversion or conservatory, which property 1 either has, or doesn't really have the garden space/layout for.
Are those 2 really the best you've seen?!?0 -
Having seen them, property 1. It's no-brainer for me! But I actually think they are both awful!0

you could always keep looking for a house you like with enough parking space. I'd avoid new builds, they are just too problematic and quality is poor.0

Having just done a rightmove search of the area it is slim pickings! Especially as the OP seems to want something finished.0 -

I really like Property 1Mortgage received 21/12/2018
Mortgage at start - £261,980
Current mortgage - £260,276
Saving towards a loft conversion first, then to smash the mortgage down!0
