Hi,
We bought a sofa for 2k about 5 years ago and a few months ago my daughter dropped a felt tip pen behind one of the cussions. When we noticed it was too late because the back of the cussion cover and the cussion inside was covered with it. We called Guardsman and they sent us a spray to try to get rid of the stain. When that didnt work they sent someone out to remove it using their own tools. That didnt work either... I chased them a few weeks later and was told they will replace the cussion covers. As our sofa is 5 years old I was totally unhappy that they would only replace the cussions because that would leave our sofa looking completely wrong (old sofa with 2 new cussions). I said I wasnt happy with the resolution and they went away for 2 weeks and came back with the following options:
1. Money to get someone in to remove the cussion (£70)
2. Give us back the money we paid for the insurance (£170)
Personally I think this is appalling and will be complaining any day now.
Please dont waste your money getting this cover for your sofa0 -
I've just ordered a new sofa from DFS and they are quoting £220 for protecting it. I've ordered a corner sofa and footstool and although they price it separately, i was told they wouldnt cover only the main sofa. The % of the sofa cost is ridiculous and if i understood the salesmans correctly, they wont actually spray anything on the sofa (something to do with fabric needing to be fire proof therefore cant use sprays) but it's an insurance that will repair/replace in event of spill or accident.
The salesman also used the name scotchguard although i dont believe it's actually scotchguard which is still sold but now has a different chemical which isnt so toxic.
Wont take the insurance but will look around and see what else is available at a reasonable price.0 -
Hi there I was wondering if anyone had a Julia sofa from dfs and could help me.
Only had it since July and the colour is looking dirty etc so both sofas are now becoming a little different in colour. I have the stain protection but does that cover me for the actual sofa gettin dirty and would they come out and clean the actual sofa. Could anyone recommend what to do or how to clean the sofa to get the fabric looking nice again as its looking rather dirty now. Is it wise to wash these covers or not? Or should I seek professional advice?
Many thanks
