Thank you. I would love basil and coriander too so may pick up a couple of large tubs from the supermarkets next month ;). Do basil and coriander need to be replanted yearly? X
Yes both are annuals. Interesting thing about corriander if you have c seeds in your herb and spices stock you can sow those, and it is quite quick growing.

£28.41 spent between morries and lidl, hopefully most food now in till end of the month, just may need to top up salad items until I can start harvesting my own.
Do I need it or just want it.

Your soup kit sounds awesome. I'm hoping to start Kitchen garden so will steal that idea in the future.

If you're making the courgette one it needs one veg stock cube and one pint of water for every courgette and onion you put in the bag. When the courgette and onion are cooked I add some garlic and herb cream cheese then put the stick blender on it. It's lovely.

So my last day of the month was yesterday - we have spent £115...£15 pound under.
This is good, as i have been trying to keep a proper eye on what we spend.

Any under spends will be going towards alcohol...

Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.

    That's great info. Thank you.

I remember reading a recipe online for a vegetable stock mix that you kept in the freezer. From memory it had onion, leek, salt and some other bits whizzed up and stored in a freezer draw. I can't for the life of me find it anywhere now. I wondered if it rang any bells with anyone here. I would love to track it down. X

I'm reasonably sure I am done spending for June, so I'm declaring myself officially under budget for June and am going to head off to the July thread... see you all there!

£32.21 spent at the weekend on BBQ stuff as we had friends round to watch the football and have food. We've got some leftovers to munch through this week but I'll still need to nip out for extra fruit and salad veg. I'm comfortably under budget so far though which makes a nice change!

I managed to slip raw courgette past my 5 year old at the weekend as he thought it was cucumber. No way would be have tried something new!

Final grocery shop of June done today....

£9.35 at Home Bargains which included a new water bottle for the House Troll for next September. It was £2.49 and the one he's using now (and which is looking a bit the worse for wear) was £4.50 in Asda. I've left it in the grocery spend as that's what I used although I actually went in for toilet rolls and croissants.

£12.20 spent in Aldi (pork fillet and a few other slimming world friendly bits).

£26.80 spent in Asda. Total spend for today was £48.35, total spend for the month was £17.43 under budget at £182.57. I've distributed the leftover money between various savings pots and put £3 back in my grocery purse for emergencies :rotfl:

After lunch I picked another 1 lb of rhubarb from the garden so that's stewing on the hob. I'm going to freeze it in small pots then transfer it to a bag in the freezer for the now. It will do for putting in yogurt once berries and suchlike become more expensive.
