Panicking - weird thing happened on Ebay site!

I managed to get Chrome to load again and was really chuffed.

However, I have now discovered that Windows Updates is not working and probably hasn't been for quite some time only I just hadn't noticed:eek:

I get a red message saying check for updates and when I click on it, it says it cannot check for updates because the service is not running.

HELP! is there any really easy way to fix this?

Chrome working perfectly now. Perhaps the problem was with them?
