BMW M2 delivered
Options
hi, thought i'd give my "2 pence" on my M2 and give a quick comparison to my old RX8 if anyone out there is looking for a new sports car.
first off i'm still not use to the power of this car. i can easily get into triple digit speeds using just half the rev band. it is extremely powerful and worlds apart to the rx8 . to get anything out of the 8, i had to rev the hell out of it to really move, but anything under 5k rpm felt like a bog standard 2litre petrol saloon. with the beamer it immediately pushes me back even with 25% throttle. it has a turbo but the delivery is still very much like an NA and i prefer this, i can barely feel any turbo lag.
one of the key reasons why i kept the 8 for so long was because of its chassis and balance, it wasn't the most powerful but it was fun. the m2 being a newer car feels a level above the chassis of the 8: more tight, more direct and more grippy. the steering rack of the m2 is A LOT quicker than the 8 and it feels more precise. i have not explored the limits of the m2 and wouldnt dare on public roads but im sure it is more than capable.
the m2 feels as athletic if not more than the 8 but doesn'y feel as 'light' and 'playful' as the 8 it feels a lot more serious. not to say it isnt exciting because its as exciting as the 8, if not more but just just in a different way.
if anyone is looking for a change, i recommend trying out the m2. it is truly a spectacular car and im looking forward to learning about the car more and driving it as much as i can

First one was asking advice, this one just seems to be bragging. It could be genuine though but probably best added to the original thread.
Not that many people on here will be interested in a new M2.0 -

Oh no, this sounds a bit unfair!i had to rev the hell out of it to really move
Yes, that's the point.was because of its chassis and balance, it wasn't the most powerful but it was fun
Bingo. Plus the engine. It's tiny, light, set far back and low in the car, and contributes to the good handling.the m2 being a newer car feels a level above the chassis of the 8
An 'M' car should be several levels above a £25K sports car.i recommend trying out the m2.
The M2 is a good car. No surprises there. Now, fuel economy, tax, insurance, servicing, parts etc? Let us know in a couple of years.0 -
