  • emmalis - good luck for the interview. I'm sure it'll all go well if you're prepared. Have you got a copy of the job description available? Usually you'll find at an interview you'll have at least one question per point on your job description and as far as I know, you can only be asked questions based on that. Have a look at each point and try and think of an example of when you have previous experience of doing that particular thing, such as, good organisational skills - well don't you get yourself and DD up and out every day? Organise clothes/home /washing etc. - that's one!
I hope it all goes well for you.

bails - good luck with the dementor tonight. We're all looking forward to your report in the morning.

Suggs - I'm glad you're in better form. It is horrible when you get down in the dumps - I would say its FMT - with everyone else on the thread on their monthlies except me and you, I'd say you came out in sympathy.
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.

Well, I have survived this far! :D It wasn't the right time so I have left it for now, relaxed as soon as I made the decision. Have let some rather choice comments go over my head, will fill you in tomorrow but off to sleep off the anxiety now. At the end of the day, they're her issues not mine so don't need to be carrying them around.

    Night all x

EDIT: this morning. I won't bore you with all the details but just a couple of snippets - this morning she measured out the oats and water for the porridge how she likes it, all I did was stir it but when I served it up she said it was too thick and then remade it!! And last night the icecream was 'too cold'! :rotfl:I think that gives you the general idea. I've now left the conversation as the moment had passed but the good thing is that OH and I have been working as a unit, bar the odd slip up that he then rectified (he finds it very difficult to stand up to her). They're all off out for a walk which I gracefully declined (had a gutful!) so I'm off to the shop to get the paper for a leisurely couple of hours :D I'm really feeling the urge for chocolate, several fountains of it :D

thanks for the good luck messages guys. If i get the job then this will be the first job I had since having my little one. Bit nervous though.

Just adding my goodlucks emma: remember that everyone else will be nervous too - some excellent advice from delly re preparation. Even if you only do the Xmas run and doesn't lead to anything right now, it will look good on your CV and give you the experience/confidence that you can manage work post baby.
Oooh it's quiet on hear this morning.

Really great you are working as a team: that is the best of outcomes. As for the chocolate - it's just your body wanting magnesium :D .

i'm ready suggs - you know my hubby is now starting to get a bit jealous!!

Oh nearly forgot - I applied for a saturday job in tescos pharmacy last week. They phoned yesterday & asked if i would be interested in one of the temporary xmas jobs they've got available and could i go for group interview monday at 5.00. Well I said yes please forgetting my hubby will be at work no w i can't get a babysitter. MiL said she would have her if i couldn't get anyone else & my mum's a school caretaker & works 3-6 in the evenings & has said she could take her to work with her if i'm desperate. either way got 20 min drive to get her there. Fingers crossed I will have some money to go towards xmas & to go shopping in the sales after xmas. It's only 5-6 weeks work but if they like me & i like them it may lead to permanent shifts.

No need to be Jealous ;) Good luck for the job interview though :) Even though I tend to be a nervous sort of person, I frequently am told I lok and talk confident, so dont worry, smile, think of them all been naked and your just as good as them :)

Fresh from the gym again... Suggs I was chasing your 855 cals in 2x 21mins bike & xtrainer and all I can say is you must be VERY FIT! I did 670 cals, and I reckon my home equipment is generous on the calories, so hats off to you and thank you for a great workout!

Emmalis good luck with the interview, fingers crossed for you.

Bails, serve the ice cream warm next time :rotfl: for goodness sake what were you thinking ;) Cold ice cream, whatever next!

As there's been some talk about confidence lately, thought I'd share my experience from a few days ago when I had to talk in front of a largish (100+) group. I found I was so much less self-conscious now, I hadn't been dreading it as I used to, and I felt at ease through the whole thing. I really do think that's 100% down to being thinner and fitter. I know some will disagree and say confidence doesn't come from losing weight, but for me I think it has :D
  • great news on the interview emmalis - good luck for monday! Bails, WELL DONE on surviving this far. Perhaps you should microwave her icecream for a bit tonight? You are doing great. And now some good news . . .

I HAVE FOUND A GREAT DIET CAKE!!!!!

No really. I can't take any credit whatsoever as it was in the losing weight recipes thread but when i copied and pasted it I didn't save whose it was, and last I looked it wasn't on there again yet. I'll pop it here for pixie . . .

    1 tin of chick peas
    1 tsp baking powder
    3 eggs
cup and a half of artificial sweetener
    2 tablespoons lemon curd
grated rind and juice of 1 lemon.

Preheat the oven to gas 4. Drain and rinse the tin of chickpeas and mash. Add all the other ingredients, mix well and put in a tin. The original recipe said loaf tin but I used a cake tin. Bake for 30 mins or so. Absolutely delicious!!! and a total of 2.5 syns on green for the whole cake. I was dubious about this recipe but am sooooo glad i tried it now. I didn't have any baking powder and had to use bicarb so it's a bit flat but it's still absolutely gorgeous.

I've had a lovely day cooking in prep for tonights get together. I've made

    mushroom pate (sw syn free)
    onion bhajis (ditto on green)
raita dip ( sw syn free)
chickpea cake (sw dead good syns)

and finally hte choc mousse cake(24 syns perslice if i can get 8 slices out of it)

I'm going to finish off with the tip on making tortilla chips out of lasagne sheets and i'm having chinese whilst the others have pizza. Feeling all confident especially as have got a fab new hair cut. And also having a red day tomorrow and treated myself to a lobster from Mr Tesco's freezer. I hope everyone else is having as lovely a weekend as i'm having!!!!

Have a great evening katiepoppycat! Hope your guests appreciate all your hard work!

I am having a nice relaxing evening in tonight (I need it after that workout!) Doing some 'housekeeping' on my PC and making some compilation workout DVDs from stuff I've recorded off the tv lately. The calm before the storm as I'm really busy next week :D

Hey, that's great to hear you so buzzin kpc! Sounds like you are indulging your bakin, cakin side but still keeping focussed. That's fantastic. A good haircut also goes a long way:D . Yeah, my weekend is going well, having had a bit of a trama week, the fallout is begining to look worth it. Back still causing enormous probs but got dosed up by the phamacist today so hoping for a better night.
Missyg - it's great to hear you can feel the boost in confidence: that will help with the maintenance phase. I'm certainly enjoying my new clothes (note to self - must get more...:D ).
