Lose Weight 16

in so far as I know and realise that no-one likes a smartar5e or someone that has lost weight, when your trying your dammest to lose weight.
I do apprecaite you guys, I do struggle with my weight, I come here looking for support and hoping that I can offer my support and my stupid sense of humour.

Suggs, there's really no need to apologise, we all have bad days. I'm sorry to hear about your confidence, can you put a finger on why that is? As for us, I'm sure I speak for the rest of the group when I say that not one of us thinks you're a !!!!!!! And far from not liking you because you've already lost your weight, I think we all find you a fantastic inspiration for our own goals. When I read your story it encourages me that WL is possible and gives me added incentive to reach my own goal. Your advice and support are greatly appreciated on here and we hope you continue to stick around for as long as the thread is about!
Your own struggle is made harder I think because there are only a few regular posters who have reached their target and everyone is having problems with the maintaining phase (and understandably so). While we may not be in your position yet, we all will be one day and so we will do all we can to help you adjust to this scary next step.
Sending you a big hug xxThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

bummed about your gym suggs - will the improvements be worth it? I quit the gym earlier this year because I just hated every minute i spent there. I've decided to take myself for a walk up the hill every day now - it's not that far in distance but good lord it's steep. I bought a pedometer after seeing everyone enjoying their's on here but when i read the instructions and it started on about measuring stride lengths I chucked it in a drawer and lost interest. And then lost hte instructions. Just as well it was one of htose chepa Argos ones that everyone says are rubbish.
Good suggestion on the stepper missyg, may give that a go. I've bought exercise dvds before but just end up feeling silly and selfconscious as i'm sure people can see me through the curtains and the porr neighbour can hear everything crashing about. Think going for a walk might be a good place to start.
Thank you all so so much for your support yesterday, you all helped me enormously to focus and think about what i do and why i do it. I hope I can pass the favour on to someone else!
Bails have you named the kitten yet?!?!?!0 -
Morning all
Suggs - I don't know you at all, and I want you to stay! Sit down. NOW.
bails - I think it was you saying about SW 'syns'? I don't like the word either, and it put me off for a long time. However, in the spirit of 'taking what's useful', I took on the programme, and think of the 'syns' as 'treats'So I can have 15 'treats' a day - hooray! Sadly, a bag of minstrels counts as 9 of them - lol! It's nice that you HAVE to have your 'treats' too
Thanks for the updated chart, Delly! It's so nice to have it down in writing somewhere other than my own houseMakes me feel so much more motivated
By the way, my total loss is 4.5lbs (so 1lb more than on the chart) - but I lost that the week before I came on here. Anyone know if I can count that, or does it have to be total lost since I got here? Will PM Delly if I get chance

Hi Suggs if you're reading this after Thursday I hope the meeting went OK.
When I joined I was on the verge of already meeting my target (then I decided to go for a little more), but I hoped I'd still be welcomed even though I was at a later stage in the process than some. All the different stages are what makes it interesting, in my opinion.
I personally think it's wonderful what you've achieved, we need the success stories as motivation and I would much rather take advice from someone who has lost weight "in the real world" than what you see in the glossy magazines, tv and so on. You don't come across as a smartar5e, in fact quite the opposite! I look forward to your comments and humour, and on plenty of occasions you've had me grinning at my screen - hope that continues!0 -
Morning all - a very quick pit stop before I go in to do some training, pleased to report another 2lb loss this week which means I've lost my first 1 1/2 stone!! Am very chuffed as I wanted to do this before Xmas so if I lose any more before then its a bit of 'breathing space' over the festive foody period!!!
Will be back later

katiepoppycat - my pedometer didn't see much more use than your one, haha! I clocked the number of steps to the school and back to give me a rough idea what I was doing in a day, and I've never used it since!
The 'Kirsty' stepper is on offer at Argos at the moment, and I'm tempted, but I shouldn't!
What about a yoga dvd, you do most of that on the floor (mat) so nobody would see much through the curtains, and it's much more gentle so no 'crashing about'! Argos has general purpose gym mats for about £3.49 which I really like, more spongey than ordinary yoga mats.
It's an exercise dvd day for me, I will have to see if I am in the mood for crashing about or something more sedate
Congrats to everyone who has done well this week0 -
Well done on the 1.5 stone mark Justmarried, that's fantastic!:T And great to be able to have a little stored up as 'insurance' over Christmas
Cheery Daff, thankyou for explaining the syns/treats to me - I think I like the idea that you HAVE to have themAs for your weight, you can put whatever total weight you like - I have put mine down including the little bit I'd lost before I officially started on here so I'm sure it'll be fine.
Okay, so I have come home from counselling with a doughnut...no prizes for guessing why!:D The question is, am I going to eat it or not? I haven't decided yet, but I'll let you know! Decisions, decisions...:rotfl:
Thanks for the chart Delly, my stats are spot on. Which reminds me, I have just bought an (allegedly) 1970s grey velvet skirt which is a size 14 - my a**e! won't fit into it. I knew this before I bought it and so this may seem like a ridiculous purchase (and it may well be:D) but it's a beautiful skirt and it was only £2, the material is worth more than that so if I never get into it I'll Ebay it! Til then I can just sit here and stroke the fabric :rotfl:I also bought a size 8 black velvet evening dress (also £2!) but don't worry, I haven't become delusional, it's for my SiL-to-be:D
Oh, and we have bizarrely and utterly randomly named the kitten Sol (as in Solomon) - I couldn't tell you why but it seems to work! Thank you for all your suggestions, we just didn't go with the Egyptian idea in the end

glad you got him named Bails, don't eat the doughnut, lick Solomon instead. I just tried sometrhig quite yummy - Cadburys mint crispy bites. They're little cakey things that are 2,5 syns each and were rather tasty. They've got a squishy fondant filling with little crunchy bits in them - remember bitz bars? like that. Very tasty. But must have only one as i'm saving up some syns to do a flexible syn/saved up syn day on saturday. Feeling v focussed now guys, thanks!
I checked uo the syn thing on SW and apparently it's short for 'synergy' which makes it seem better than being something naughty. I like Cherydaffs suggestion of calling them treats though . . .
missyg, i have been to a yoga class once. And fell asleep. I think i slept through virtually the whole class only waking up when the rest of the group starting packing stuff away. I'm still embarassed about that now! I'll have a look and see if theres dvd called 'dynamic yoga' or something like that. Great suggestion!0
