When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money::money:

Hi May Moneysavers,
It's my weekend. Phew!
Dawn good luck.
Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Three:
* Work very hard on my own mental health issues. Do Holistrio App. Had just the one terrible moment this week but I'm OK now.
* Check online banking and broadband usage.
* Turned off alarm clock until tonight, it resets itself automatically.
* Off to look at a secondhand car this morning. If "I" buy it the money will come out of DW's savings and I will then repay her by Decemberfest.
* Defrost batchcooked soup for lunch later.
* Argue with stupid car insurance company.
More later...

Morning folks
Ally - thanks for starting us off. Have a lovely weekend!
Dawn - I hope all goes well today
Feeling a bit so-so today but hopefully will calm down and soldier on. Lots to do in work and having licence issues.
Today's list:- B/L/D from stores
- Go for walk at lunchtime if haven't calmed down. Gym if I have. - nice walk with my colleague
- Put the blimming washing away!!
- Knit commission sock.
- Reply to freecyclers.
- No alcohol
- Chat to Npower to clarify prices in app. Says we are using a lot less than I'm being charged for but I suspect that the app is showing me the gas and elec usage MINUS the standing charge and VAT - after frustrating chatbot experience, have been advised to email
Have a good one all

Afternoon all. Dawn hope all is well and your lack of morning post means you haven't been cancelled. Productive day so far:
Made chocolate cake with beetroot to use up some I bought that I wasn't a fan of (beetroot not chocolate :rotfl:)
Pizza dough in BM to use up some mozzarella we didn't finish yesterday
Met friend for coffee, she treated us halo in tact as didn't succumb to tasty food :A
Haven't managed a run whilst smalls are at school, so will try and go later when DH is back
Used something from freezer for lunch
Started to prep tomorrow nights tea whilst I had a chance this morning
More washing on line, will load another for tonight
Check banking, update sheet
Leave for swimming 10 minutes early to drop this form at the vets that I've not managed to do yet
Dd to prepaid swimming lessons
Flylady of bathroom
Hope everyone is ok.0 -
Many thanks for the start off Ally
Thinking of DawnW hope everything goes okay.
Funny kind of morning. Up in the middle of the night after one of the cats refused to come in last night and then decided to get into a fight 2.30am so slept in this morning.
Managed to get some paperwork done-finally!!
Also shredded some old paperwork that is no longer needed
RM survey items done this morning, have nearly caught up.
Cat cleaning all done.
Despite the nice weather had my slow cooker leek and potato soup for lunch-one of the best so far. DD has put in a request for a batch when back home
Washing out, including bedding washed from yesterday
Only 79p spent this morning-planned spend
Made a slow start on packing up the living room ready for decorating
Still need to write letter to friend......not in the mood at the minute but will get it done.....maybe start tonight.
Think that's about it from me so far, have a great day everyone xDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi Monday Savers,
Huge job list today. The money saving bits of it as follows:
*Read meters & uploaded hopefully in time for bill.
*Did my mid-month budget check-in.
*Moved some funds around to keep different strands of budget accurate.
*Updated grocery budget.
*Paid 4 x 50ps into my sealed pot.
*Sorted M&S and Co-op vouchers into voucher stash.
*Did rubber chicken. It did roast dinner last night, will provide a salad with couscous tonight, a stir-fry tomorrow, a sandwich & a box of odds & ends to freeze for the next time mr f has the urge to make an Epic Man Stew.
*Overnight laundry done on cheap tariff & all line dried in the sunshine for free.
*Baked bread.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Did a few surveys.
*Filing (still to do)
*Updated signature to reflect new survey earnings total so far for 2018.
*Wrapped ebay item which unexpectedly sold last week.
*Finish sock.
*Checked expiry date on the voucher I got from the Body Shop for my birthday - another couple of weeks to go.
*Watered veggie plants.
*Checked online banking to see if mr f's £50 Ugov payment has landed yet. Nope, but should be soon.
OK, must crack on. Hope Dawn is doing ok. Nice to read what you've all been up to.

Good Evening All
Ally - Thanks for starting us off today
Dawn - Hope all has gone well today, rest and take it easy now
Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.
Managed to get a Dr's appointment and just have to "keep on keeping on" - the joys of having a damaged and weak immune system but at least my mood is improving since joining the gym/rehab and also loving that we are walking most days, amazing really how many wonderful places there are to walk on our doorstep. Dr did say to make the most of my good days and just accept that some days will be harder but to enjoy the "small things". Today we have:
Checked Bank & made PAD
DH cleaned front door and patio doors (inside and out)
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer -
Checked: Tombola Stars, Lucky Bob, Luckyphone, FPL, WinaDinner -
Read
Night all.
