Morning all.
Last day off today - back to work tomorrow!
Need to go into town later - Both DD's need new shoes for school and I have to pick up a cover from Argos for our new garden chairs which are coming next week.
Am going into the phone shop as well :rotfl: (runs and hides).
Doing baked oats for my breakfast this morning, as I love it. Don't often get to have it, as I have to leave for work quite early and don't get time to wait for it to cook, unless I make it the night before.
Am going to have some spare yoghurt with it and Blueberries, I think.
Hopefully the weather will be nice today, it was lovely yesterday and I got the washing dried, as well as got the weeding done out the front. We are forecast rain for today though.
Have a good day all.
xStriving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £24,616.090 -

Hi folks!
I wonder of any of you could answer a SW Query for me? (I have never been a member, but read the magazine and have a basic idea of how it works...seems a very healthy approach to weight loss!)
From what I have read in the magazine, there is a big emphasis on home-cooking from scratch.
Would you recommend the SW model for someone who does not have access to a stove or hotplate?....They have a microwave, and a posh(ish) slowcooker (that also does rice and porridge) and a small halogen oven.....but so many of the recipes seem in the magazine seem to rely on having a stove!
They are unable to get out and about to a club, and would possibly look into joining online (although this seems expensive to me, and they are on a basic pension).
The local practice nurse has recommended weight loss of about two stone...but has been less forthcoming about HOW to do it, simply saying 'eat less ready meals and more fruit'.
(My own weightloss was with 5:2...but she has Blood Pressure issues, and doesn't feel it would work for her....I thought about SW but thought I'd see what people already on it thought about it for an elderly, slightly less-than-mobile woman with no access to a stove!)
Thanks in advance for any thoughts...and hope you don't mind me popping in to an established thread with a query!0 -
Not tried the Godons pink.
What is it like?
It's lovely and refreshing and fruity. I'm not a fan of tonic so I have with asda diet lemonade.
Another damage repair day planned
B - Overnight granola (HEXB)
D - Tuna pasta salad (2 syns for mayonnaise)
T - Cottage pie and vegetables (half HEXA plus 2)
The other half of my HEXA will be milk in tea and BM is a good clear out of our room for the building of the cot0 -

Certainly no problem asking advice. Happy to help as we're all converts here!:D
I'd say yes, it can be done if your friend is committed. MrsRyan lost loads of weight with very limited access to kitchen facilities and with health issues that meant she couldn't lift heavy pans etc. There are a number of us that don't have much exercise (although in my case it's laziness driven:o) so that wouldn't be an issue.
Obviously, she manages now to feed herself with the facilities she has. While the recipes in the magazine can be good and worth a try it's also possible to adapt whatever you'd normally cook with a few simple tweaks to make it healthy and SW friendly.
A year or two back I'd have said that anyone who relied on ready meals would find SW difficult but no longer. Conscious of this SW have their own ready meals on sale in Iceland and Aldi have some good 'copies'. It's also possible to use the slow cooker for batchcooking your own ready meals like Bolognese, savoury mince or chill to have with a jacket potato or rice.
Very few people have much good to say about SW online. If she could get to a group, even once, she could then get a set of books and the introductory talk about the plan. She needn't go again if it's difficult for her. Beyond that she could join our group on here for all the advice and support needed!:)
Hope that helps.0 -
Well done on getting back to plan topgirl. You can't keep drowning your sorrows!:rotfl:
Does the gin taste really sweet with lemonade? I'm asking because I'll have three weeks away next month with no access to slimline tonic. I can get hold of diet lemonade though so I might give it a try.
Last day before WI for me. DH (lovely man:D) told me last night that I was looking really slim but I'm always nervous that I'll be out of target range when I get on those scales. If I am I'll just have to suck it up and deal with it when I get back. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen.:)
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, fried egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, ham, half HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks
L: LO ham hash with cabbageSW spaghetti Bolognese
Syns: Parmesan 20 -

Hi prinzessilein- good to see you over here.
I lost 6.5 stone on Slimming World with no access to cooking facilities other than a microwave. Maman has summed it up beautifully so there is not much more I can add but I would be more than happy to provide tips*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
