I'm not sufficiently legally experienced to comment, so don't deal with any detailed court submissions. Sorry.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

OK so have you filed that WS and all the exhibits with the local court in a paper version (ideally in a file with a contents page)? Not by email.

The claimant's version went by email though, yes?

And you have your own copy of everything ready for the hearing, plus proof of sending the WS and evidence by email in case they pretend they didn't get it?

I hope you put a copy of your tenancy agreement in as evidence, but I couldn't see you had?

Everything went last Monday. By post and I have proof of postage.

Didnt put copy of tenancy agreement. Didnt think I had to as it says that only allowed to use car park when issued with permit.

Trying to put together my skeleton.
When do I have to submit that?
And can I mention arguments from their WS?

    Thank you :)

You don't have to submit a skeleton, at all.

But if you choose to submit one (short version bullet points, summarising the points of defence, not repeating it or embellishing it, but picking brief holes in their WS and evidence) you can file and serve it a couple of days before the hearing, with your costs schedule.

The latter MUST be served & filed in advance, as the NEWBIES thread tells you (where the example costs schedules are linked).

    Thanks.

I see in some posts that it makes it easier and quicker if you give the skeleton to the judge.

Is there anything else? Do I have to have a statement to read out in court?

I would file and serve it a few days earlier, as C-m suggests.

Of course take a couple of extra copies on the day just in case.

No. Your skeleton should be your prompt card, bullet points to move on to.

I am going through their WS. They have attached a contract between them and the landowner. And I have a concern about the name of the landowner. I cannot find any information about the company that they have stated they signed the contract with.
Is there any way I could check who the landowner is??
    Thanks

Ask the local Council who pays the non-domestic rates

    or

Ask the Land Registry who owns it.
