I definately seem to have turned a corner.

Spoke to my friend who I went on the cycling trip with. I have only just remembered her having an operation and a scar round her neck from about 15 years ago. Yes, it turns out she had half her thyroid removed too.

Having been reading tales of woe, of people generally who had the whole thing removed and were struggling on the sometimes inadequate drugs response from the NHS (due to some amoral company buying up the license for T4 and then increasing the price by about 1000% - way out of the range of most GPs practices), I then spoke to my friend. In the nicest way possible she was very dismissive, basically described how she'd got on with it, did a swimathon two weeks later and I needed to give myself time oh and ......BUCKLE UP BUTTERCUP!!!

Not her exact words but you get the gist. Two years ago in preparation for our weekend attempt at the Coast to Coast I went to a talk by a female cycling group in a local city. I was telling this same friend about their slightly more leisurely challenge over 5 days. The noise of her spitting her coffee out followed
"Five days.....five days.........you could WALK it in five days".

Sometimes you just need things explained to you by your Northern friend. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I may be doing her a disservice.

This is the same friend who let herself into my house when I was in hospital 11 years ago and cleaned the train wreck of a kitchen where I had been struggling to keep going for about a week. I came back to a house that was cleaner than when I moved in!

...she does things and she says what she thinks.

Hey butti....just checking in to make sure you're okay as you haven't been around for a while....;)

    Thanks Squirrelgirl.
I did pen a missive about a week ago and lost the whole lot by hitting the wrong key on the keyboard  Had just worked out all my totals so was not best pleased :mad:

I'm okay. I'm tired but gradually.....very gradually..... well probably very very gradually improving. Still sleeping for a solid 8 hours. For me a partial thyroidectomy has been a cure for insomnia. I'm now out like a brick.....a very solid brick....with a very dense middle for a very solid 8 hours. Really, if I have an issue getting to sleep and take some time I will sleep though and wake up at about 9am!

Still looking at my beautiful bike and thinking should I? Do I feel up to it! Maybe not quite yet. Walked back from fireworks yesterday (1 mile) and had a yoga class in the morning. Going to walk for a mile today to the bus stop and then to the pub

    So totals;

We are down to three cards :D:D:D
    Santander £1560
    Halifax £ 110
    Barclays £4156

    In total £5826

Halifax will get paid off next pay day, then we shall go after Santander. Both are 0% so it doesn't much matter which goes first but I work better with little targets.

The mortgage may well hit the £50's by the end of the year. It's going to be close. I think it may miss by about £300. The mortgage was taken out in early January so I am towards the end of the fourth year. Have started to incur penalty charges (of about 11p ) on the smaller mortgage so must be right up to the buffers on that one. The good news is that from January I think I can overpay with no penalty so will up the little £6k mortgage (3.99%) with another £50 per month. That will take the overall payment up to £800 against a set payment of £495.

Progress will be made....Oh yes it will!

So the mortgage is at £61465 against an initial £92000
    :T:T:T:T:T:T:T

We'll just keep on trotting down.

Next pay day (about 10 days time) I'm going to order Jack Monroe's latest book. It's £6 and is supposed to be a return to form in terms of cheap food and using the contents of the store cupboard. I could do with doing more of that.

Right house to tidy....ironing to do.....beer to drink :beer::beer:
