why is it when you have a solution things are never simple
Garage called , he has the car on the ramps and fitted new part to find new part is faulty - he has other work booked in so needs to get it done so has got one from his local branch of supplier ( same supplier my mate works at but different branch)
goodbye discount as I will have to return part for a credit - not the end of the world , disapointing but these things happen
however as he has spent labour time etc taking it apart hes talking about a warranty invoice to the supplier for time spent - I am not familar with the terminology but i guess its for the labour spent as time is money !!
I get on really well with the guy and hope it was just frustration as im not sure how that works considering its a mate doing me a favour and not on his company account
I said I would talk to him about it when I collect the car but I may just offer to pay it myself since its one of those things and my mate was trying to help me out
I guess its one of those " spending a pound to save a penny" days0 -
one of my work mates has this afternoon passed me over a budget planner excel tracker , its brilliant - simple and straight forward but it will become my bible I think , its now saved on my desk top ready for me to enter next months deductions.
I've also spent a little work time ( yep slap me on the wrist but its Funday Friday) working out my debt repayment plan
There are debts that I hadn't considered debt - like an old water bill I hadnt payed.
My total cultimation of debt currently stands at 4508.00 - EVERYTHING now on 0%
596.00 runs out in Dec so my priority is to get rid of this first
Once thats paid which I can do by Dec I will push those repayments over to the barclaycard
I have used an allocation of £300 of my wage to my debt ( to incoperate the £50 pay rise I will get this month) , If I can pay more then I will but based on this info my DFD should be Dec 19
What a great way to start 2020 !0 -

Sounds great, I'm a bit obsessed wtih my budget & have been checking it more than instagram recently. And, yeah, that includes work time, too. Sssh...

Thats a good gesture on the car front i would reward it ie buy them something ie a few cans/nice bottle of wine for his missus etc.0 -
By the time I collected the car , the mechanic had calmed down about the faulty part , fortunately it was a vent of frustration that he wasn't able to complete the repair as soon as it was ready.
He also got a new one from the same supplier ( diff branch) and they are going to sort the credits etc out between the two branches so no additional agg for my friend who helped me out
My pockets are £440 lighter ! As i supplied the part , I could do a naughty little cash in hand on the fitting so I saved the VAT part - but wow , its really hit home lately how much expense goes on transport.
I couldn't get to work any other way and do rely on my car so it is worth it for my freedom of movement but lately I have taken my foot of the gas pedal and tried to drive a little more economically - so far I have managed 350 miles out of the tank of petrol last week and the calculator tells me I have another 90 left but the final 3rd always goes quickest and I will be happy with another 50 !!
I have had a great weekend at my friends ,I introduced them to cards against humanity (if you know you know) which was an absolute scream and yesterday was a family day bbq at my aunties - Both days I was fed but I obviously didnt turn up empty handed so it was slightly spendy on the alcohol stakes - I haven't visited the bank balance today as I know its going to hurt
The car repair has impacted the amount I wanted to stash in to my savings this month but I have to make sure that I still try and retain something for the savings pot and not completely write the month off0 -

Funny you should say that Scott , when I arrived late evening he was cracking a beer open as it had been one of those days and the weekend
I want to work somewhere where that happens0 -

I am absolutely loving the spreadsheet - I do like a bit of instagram too but I don't check either the spreedsheet or insta as regularly as FB !0 -

I would never judge..........I've bought it at that time without having completed a night shift !
Today is manic , my department has gone from 3 to 2 due to internal move so the workload is being juggled , as there has been a bit of a down turn in business , we agreed with our manager that we would monitor how this panned out before we recruited as we think it may just be a part time hand we need - However I am now learning the departed work mates work load and my browsing time has been affected !!!
I made my lunch this morning and left my sandwiches on the kitchen , I was so looking forward to them - For the first time in I don't know how long I had to drive out and buy so I could eat. I chose KFC , the drive through queue went round the block so i thought park up and walk only to find the queue was twice as bad!!!
Some days you are the pidgeon and some you are the statue - Today I am the latter
I have also realised what a hetic and expensive few months are approaching - I have tapped figures in to my new budget sheet and scrutinised my online bank statement , I can't see any obvious "waste" of money but I don't have any surplus so I think at some point I shall go through and work out which purchases were essential and which could ha been avoided or potentially smaller
Found out there is a free music festival on in my work town this weekend so as the plans I had with the kids have been changed I may see if they fancy this , We did Notting Hill last year but didn't enjoy it as much as we had expected and ended up hopping over to camden instead0 -
