Hi CCL from a CCW :D Ive got 9 fur babies :o and also have a tortie (Calico) with IBS.

Read through your diary over the last few weeks, I didn't read your old one so only know about the way your life was with your ex from what you have written on this diary but wow what a tough time you've had. I really hope you get the resolution you need soon.

Just wanted to say that you have done amazingly well and I'm not surprised you got ground down before Christmas given everything you are coping with. Hope you won't mind me popping in from time to time.
  • Continue on with the crochet! I'm making a waffle stitch blanket for my son and I'm making such slow progress I'm amazed at how much you can do. How long are you crocheting for a night?

  • Morning CCL,

Sorry I didn't get the chance to swing by over Christmas, I hope you and the kids had a good time and were uninterrupted, shall we say. I'll need to catch up later on.

    Happy new year!!

    Any resolutions?

Hi CCW and welcome to my ramblings. Always lovely to have more people reading along so I look forward to you popping in.

When I'm at work I usually do about an hour or two a night (while I'm watching telly and after everything else is done). Crochet is definitely my way of relaxing, but I think I'm quite fast at it judging by what others have said. I did get finished with the actual crochet last night, but now have a load of ends to sew in. That will be my frog for today. I like the blanket, it's a good quality, expensive one so will be keeping it for me and the kids. I don't think I'll get much time to crochet today but I will do something for sure. Waffle stitch is a yarn eater, and quite slow going but it feels absolutely gorgeous. I love it!

    Morning CCL,

    Happy new year!!

    Any resolutions?

Brilliant and uninterrupted Christmas thanks Speky. It's been a good one. As far as resolutions go. Get the financials sorted out with the divorce and get on paying my new debt back. Continue to be grateful for everything I have and enjoy my new life.

So, today is looking busy. In a few minutes I'm going out to follow bestie to a garage. Her car has been recalled so it needs to be in the garage all day. I'm going to bring her back.
Then taking dd back to the hairdressers - my hairdresser is the manager there so when I spoke to her about how disappointed dd was with the colour, I was told to bring her back and get it sorted for free. Then I have 2 hours of extra tutoring this afternoon, which will be a much needed extra £50 that I wasn't expecting. Then need to be home by 5pm for my shopping delivery. I am desperate for a nsd but not hopeful. It would be unusual for me to be out and about so much and not spending, but we'll see.

I'd best get on - I'll check in later. Have a good day all :j
  • You're right about it being a wool eater. I'm making it for my son for when we move him out of a cot, and my husband loves it so he wants me to make us one for our king sized bed. I don't think he realises how much wool that will take. I'm loving it cause it's nice and simple, I need to start quite a complicated large doily (I guesss?) for my friend's wedding and I'm just putting it off, even though I actually enjoy more compliacted things when I get down to it.

Hope you're coping okay, thinking of you and I'm glad your ex has seemed to have stopped stalking you, that was very worrying.

  • Hello :hello: :D
Checking in for the evening while the second episode of Eastenders is on in the background. Definitely can't miss Luther at 9 so I need to be in with the next bit of crochet by then.
I am really pleased to report that I got everything done on my list today AND I also managed a nsd as well. I'm surprised, but I followed Mrs Frugalwoods advice of putting a note in my purse of my longer term goals (4 words = no debt no mortgage) in massive capital letters and it stopped me twice from needlessly spending.
Busy with bigger things but didn't get a lot of the smaller stuff done. I still need to find a little PAD of some sort today from somewhere (down side of not spending is no change in my purse) and the actual bank account is too empty to transfer anything. Might go looking in the depths of my handbag or school bag and see what I can find. Still also need to have a quick shower later before I go to bed.
However I have achieved lots today - 2 trips to the garage with bestie to drop off and pick up her car. 3 hours in the hairdresser with dd - she's still not completely happy with it Beanie, but she likes it better than last time and it cost nothing. I had to leave for tutoring before she was finished so I gave her a fiver and said if she was happy with how it was fixed then to tip the girl for doing a good job at fixing it. I got my fiver back :rotfl: 2 hours of tutoring that earned me an extra £50 and I just made it home in time for my Mr S delivery arriving.
Got dd to help me unpack and got dinner made, put a load of washing in, washed the dishes and I even remembered to put the recycling out for collection tomorrow. So it was just before 7 when I finally sat down.
Then finished sewing the ends in on my blanket so can tick that off the list (dd is already using it so it must be nice) and now am catching up on here before I start on my next bit of unfinished business - team purple blanket.

  • Good morning :coffee:
Today is the last 'official' day of my holidays :( Ah well - it really has been a blast this time round, plus I got 2 of the longest half terms out of the way before Christmas. I think it's only 6 weeks until half term this time AND we're off to the Canaries for a few days (with hindsight I shouldn't have booked this but it's paid for now so not to worry) And in between that I have a session of exam marking to boost my finances a bit. I am completely, utterly skint but I don't feel hopeless about it. There is almost an end in sight.
I'm going out to meet up with a friend for lunch today. One of my planned outings for the month. We do normally go to her for NY, but I think I mentioned that she's been in poor health this year and we decided not to add any extra stress. So me and ds for a pub lunch today and I'm making it as mse as possible by taking a £5 voucher with me. It will be worth it to see her as I always feel better once I do, and so does she. We don't get together that often as we're quite far away geographically and really busy single mothers so worth the cost of petrol and a pub lunch. She also has a massive pound shop near her and there are a couple of things I might need to get there while I'm on spending - things that are on my frog list that need minor spends.
Speaking of frog list that is growing and growing. I have car and cat insurance to sort before the end of the month, appointments to make and things to find. However, it is good crossing stuff off the list and knowing it won't be bothering me at 4am any more. Need to set some time aside to sort things out off that today - part of my January aims.
