I agree in principle - but sometimes it's hard to avoid when an individual comes onto an existing thread and derails the discussion.
Like the drunk idiots on a pub crawl coming into a quiet locals pub on a Sunday afternoon and wondering why everyone is giving them the stink-eyeTruth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0 -

To reach the point of offence during a contentious debate is often healthy.
To enter a debate seeking to offend is not.
Both statements made without any knowledge of the presumably removed post which sparked this thread's creation by the way, and therefore without a clue whether I am supporting or criticising the OP by making them.0 -
I notice the other 'Offence' thread has gone the way of the 'Useless' threads.
If I was cynical, I would think that this is going to be a trend, as I can't remember 3 threads in DT being totally removed in a less than a week.0 -
I'm watching 'country file' not a programme I am expecting to debate 'gay' issues, just animals and farming, do we really need to bring human sexuality in every opportunity in tv, surely Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Eastenders are doing all that for us, its rammed down our throats on a daily basis zzzzzzzzzz
....and at the end of every one of those "soaps" and Holby City, Casualty, etc. etc. there is a help line number. I'm sure a lot of the time people didn't need any help until they watched the programme
That's the diversity of the BBC which sometimes exceeds it's remit.Holding back the years...0 -

I noticed that, it should of been my thread pulled because being quite naughty I started this thread on the back of that one, which I normally moan about :mad:0 -

Its down to your inability to grasp the principal of marketing.
The reason for promoting anything is to sell it to people who didnt know they wanted the product. And to normalise it.
I only have an interest in the sexuality of one person - my wife.
"Some" people have an agenda to promote their speciality, it used to be the free love brigade, later the extra marital fan club followed by the same sex association. Latterly the LGBT union (I understand another letter is added to the acronym every so often) have come to the fore.
Quite why sex wheedles its way into country file I dont know........but then I'm a monogamous, white, heterosexual, boring old fart.
Hi Hun, I thought you were in the garden cutting our grass.

It seems like it's every show as there are so many of them which cover "sensitive" issues.Holding back the years...0
