Response from UKPC following initial appeal

Hi,

Looking for some further advice on how I should now proceed.

The driver of my car received a UKPC invoice on their screen at the end of April. As I am the registered keeper I appealed online using the template in the Newbie section, following an initial letter to the landowner which was rejected. This is what UKPC replied back with, just 3 days after my appeal.

My initial fine was £90 reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days. Now its gone down to £50. Strange.

.............................................
Thank you for your recent correspondence in relation to the above parking charge.
In order to make a final decision regarding your appeal, please provide a copy of the drivers full name and address to our Appeals Department within fourteen days of the date of this letter. All photographic evidence can be viewed online at [***
All of our signage is fully compliant with the guidelines set out within the BPA Code of Practice and we reject the notion that it is in any way unclear or ambiguous.
Failure to provide this information will give us no alternative other than to make our final decision based on the previous information received. At this stage a POPLA verification code will be provided.
Further correspondence can be sent by visiting our website at***] or by post to the address overleaf. Please ensure that if sending evidence by post that you include the parking charge reference number and vehicle registration.
The parking charge has been on hold whilst under appeal and may be settled in full at the reduced rate of £50.
PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER. UKPC REGULARLY TAKES MOTORISTS TO COURT WHO IGNORE THEIR PARKING CHARGES. PLEASE SEE: FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
Yours faithfully,
Appeals Department

IGNORE it, they are phishing for driver details

its not a "fine" , its an invoice and they can demand what they like up to £100

Another load of junk from UKPC

It's there stupid little wheeze pretending they cannot
do anything unless the driver is named.

Right now UKPC have been banned by the DVLA
    from obtaining keeper information

You responded to them, so they have your address
but not who the driver is/was

As said, ignore them, next step is they send you
a POPLA code to appeal to.

Once you get the POPLA code, and they must send it to you,
    come back here.

UKPC are scammers, fraudsters and totally unscrupulous
so don't get sucked in by their rubbish

    UKPC banned by the DVLA

UKPC are in deep doodoo read this

    http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

UPDATE - Since the response from UKPC asking for the driver details, its been 37 days.
They said the "charge" would be put on hold for 35 days and in that time they would respond by letter or e-mail. I have not received anything from them.

Does this mean they have missed their window to send the POPLA code I asked for in my appeal?

Give it a few more days, then if still not received, send a complaint to the BPA, copying them in on all previous correspondence between you and UKPC.
