Do the police do anything about credit card fraud?

That doesn't make sense. Why would I go through all the trouble of filing a police complaint, chasing them to get something done, get the police to block and register the phones as stolen and hope that the Apple CCTV footage helps identify the thief/thieves!!
By your logic, pretty much all of this kind of fraud could be gamed - identity theft, cc fraud, stolen card details, lost cards, insurance claims, etc etc. I'm not denying that it happens but it's just a bit rude to accuse someone who has come on here for help, of the same.Conveniently, it sound like a how to to get away with defrauding a credit card, hineg Gov, it weren't me, I was on the Costa, someone must've stolen my card to buy these easily traceable high end electronics.0 -
Of course not: they're far too busy policing political correctness.0

You mean stopping people using racist, sexist and homophobic slurs?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

My point is that investigation of these types of crime are taking priority over other crimes. : The OP reported his crime and was effectively just given a crime reference number. If he had been the victim of a racial slur, this would have been investigated much more robustly. Just a reflection of the times we live in.You mean stopping people using racist, sexist and homophobic slurs?0 -
To be fair, the police have been working on the case, even though it has been slow and needed a fair bit of pushing on my part. As mentioned in my update above, they've identified the phones bought with the stolen cards and blocked+logged them. Still waiting for Apple to provide the store cctv footage.0
