Item Not As Described ... but still want it

  • Thank you.

I am not after a refund in anyway. I just think it is an error.

They ended early and sent 2nd class as he didn't want to send special delivery

    Thanks everyone xx

My wife has had similar experiences in the past. I always suggest to her to ask the question (whatever the listing says) - "Is it new / Is it real silk / Does it have tags" etc.

Just for info, a few weeks ago I saw a lady in town wearing a dress with tags still attached. Was she planning to return it to the store? Who knows, but having tags doesn't necessarily mean 'unworn'.

What do you want? - you haven't said with any clarity.
You either want it, keep it, and get on with life, or you don't want it so raise a SNAD, send it back, and go find something else to buy and wear.
But don't be surprised if you find you are on that seller's blocked bidder list in a few days time!

The seller probably did not want to send Special Delivery as ebay makes sellers refund the entire cost if an item is returned, despite as Soolin says a buyer is not entitled to receive any refund for express postage for a standard change of mind return.

I sell some clothing and not having tags makes a difference to the sale price. At busy times I sometimes miss the odd missing tag and I've had buyers complain. Even on new stock tags can be missing but I always offer a partial refund if a buyer complains as they usually feel like the OP does, that the item is not necessarily new and they would have paid less had they known. A partial refund has always kept the buyer happy so I do understand why the buyer feels a bit let down by the tags not being present. I would tell the seller that you feel the item was not described correctly and see how they respond.

I feel like i have been misled, if i have known it was not new i would not of purchased.

I feel I should just inform them, not after anything back but feel let down

I would contact them and politely ask why it was advertised as new with tags when it doesn't have any tags.

Leave it an open ended statement and see what they say...
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

If I'm selling an item with tags, I would always show them in the pictures. Did the pictures show tags?

It doesn't really matter, the description says new with tags and the photo can't over ride that.

Tags prove nothing. Around £6 will get you your own tagging gun from eBay.

Come on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.

He said he thinks they fell off in the wardrobe and now told me was x amount when he states y amount in listing

You've lost me now. What is x amount and y amount?

Tags falling off in the wardrobe is ludicrous - I could come up with a far better excuse than that.
But you've got the dress now and you said you like be it. Forget the tags for minute and look at the garment itself. Does it have any signs of being worn and do you still think it's good value for money as it is?

If yes, then you either keep it and leave the appropriate feedback, you try to negotiate a discount, or you send it back as SNAD. .
I can't see there are any other options open to you.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
