How do you query something effecting your credit rating?

Options
Hi, I’m new to all this & hoping you can all help me. My partner is separated from his wife & they have nothing joint any more. All bank accounts were closed. They had a bad credit rating when together but he has been trying to make it better which he has been keeping an eye on & it’s been going up. But in the last few weeks his credit rating has dropped.... its saying he’s over drawn - but he’s not. It’s saying he’s been doing lots of credit checks with banks etc - he’s not.
How does he go about querying these things??
We were wondering if this would be effected by his ex wife?? Even tho they don’t have anything in joint names any more?? Would she effect his credit score??
Thanks for your time !!!128522;

    Tell him not to worry too much about the score - it tends to go up and down with the slightest thing.

    Make sure he checks all the accounts - if he is overdrawn, it will show the balance on the account details.

    Check the searches area to see who is doing the searches and whether they are hard/soft searches.

    Finally tell him to check for financial links - they will be listed on his reports.

  • No one has a credit score or rating to be affected so ignore them.

    However check the searches to see if any searches have been carried out that they are unaware of.

    If his ex wife is still listed as a financial link request the link be removed.

    Make sure you check with all 3 CRA’s - IGNORING the nake believe scores and ratings
  • Ok, so I!!!8217;ve not had a bad score so not sure what he!!!8217;s using, he said it was a free check thing.... should he do a paid credit check with like Experian? Would you recommend that?
    Thank you both for your help :)

    He can check all 3 Credit reports free so don't pay for them.

    Experian report at MSE Credit Club
    Equifax report at Clearscore
    Call Credit report at Noddle
