The global version of the Xiaomi Mi 6X(possibly called the Mi A2) will probably be out soon, just a thought..

Much closer to the S8,a year after the S8 came out its still lacking on some fronts though.
However the price goes some way to that.
However NFC is a deal breaker for me these days so any phone without just isnt happening.

It's still a lower spec phone when compared to the s8, only a midrange SoC and low resolution screen in comparison.

I didn't realise it didn't have NFC, that's an unforgivable omission in 2018.

Which is why I said much closer, not better.
NFC apparently isnt used much in areas such as Asia,as such it isnt seen as an important feature.

It's a money saving site , I'm pointing out that there are alternatives to buying the latest phones at £800 plus .

To me and probably others NFC for Google/apple pay etc is not a deal breaker, as is the amount of storage. I prefer to still pay by card , I don't store huge amounts of music or photos on the device as I use the cloud .it takes perfectly good photos , I have a "proper" camera still if I want to take really good photos.

true its a saving website but you have to have a starting point of what your willing to spend. The OP has mentioned that he sees the phone around £500 and wont go over it and so is looking to get the phone at that price from a good website.

Its you thats pushing the £800 price tag

You pay by card using your phone.
Given you dont have NFC,how can you 'choose' to not use Google pay?
You posted as if it was a comparable phone, its not.
Im sure most people know there are cheaper options for most things.

Other than you, who has mentioned spending £800?

How can you prefer paying by card when you have absolutely no idea of the experience of using ApplePay/GooglePay?

That's a valid point of course, but you said you're only paying for the name - not true. Do you need all those extra features? Likely not. Can you have the same specs for half the price? No. The point for OP is to get an S8+ at the best price.

I prefer to eat my dinner off a plate instead of a bathroom floor. I don't need a bathroom floor to test that theory. I do understand people wanting to stick with cards. I know people that don't even trust cards!
