VAT on Contract Meaning?

In general if something says plus you would expect it to include the vat, i mean when i purchase an item from say Amazon/Ebay if the product says 3.49 + P+P i would expect this to include the postage cost!

So what you are saying is that if you saw something marked as £10+20% in a shop you would think that it is actually £10 rather than £12?

What you 'expect' is not the norm by any means!

Erm... that's the difference in the 2 scenarios. + means additional, inc means included
