TA scream as much as you need to. I feel your pain; although my kitchen was done in a week, I hate having workmen in the house (ok I hate having anyone in the house, but workmen are the worst). Sending you coping vibes.
Thanks for the good wishes, folks; I'm ok, just a tad bruised. I have rather more padding than I should, so I bounce fairly well. I am getting a bit concerned about the frequency of these type of occurrences though; I think I need to start using my Mini-Walker regularly (it's a motorised gadget for exercising the legs whilst sitting) in the hope of strengthening my knees a bit.
Anyways - onwards and upwards; washing is all up to date, bread is being made (in the machine of course) and it's HM pizza for dins - which I'd better go and construct in a minute; the base is sitting on it's tray in the airing cupboard at the moment. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW I'm trying to envisage this gadget, not terribly successfully.
Well ladles and gentlespoons, I am the last of the big spenders. I have a new mop and bucket, yes I'm so, so flashy. And I've mopped the kitchen and bathroom with it.
Also I got shoes for work reduced from £40 to £20. And from the m and s outlet, no trousies which is what I wanted but shower stuff an awful lot cheaper than the proper shop. Still more expensive than po*undland where it tend to shop for that sort of thing what with I am such a classy bint innit, but bargainous nevertheless.
TA our last kitchen took 2 weeks if I remember rightly, that did include building it and there was a bit of noses in the air business when I insisted on using our usual plumber, not theirs. They had to come back a few times, the wooden work surfaces needed a little fiddling about with.
I need to iron something to go to work in, dratin the time it has taken to write this, my floors are dry.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
My ex fitted a kitchen in our house, it took 18 months!!Chin up, Titus out.0

It wasn't dry she just cremates everything .....was a bit annoyed but hey more for me next timeTempted to tell her to find her own way to Morrisons today the ungrateful witch but of course I didnt. So today will be lots of fun i'm sure
Rant over
Hope mum is speaking to you silver-oldie feel guilty for mum ranting when your situation is so much worse I would be ranting at them for not sorting the lift out.
Please don't feel guilty, if mother does choose to speak it will probably be something nasty.
The home says they are waiting on a part for the lift.
Last time mother decided to stay in bed her health declined, she was in hospital several weeks and given no more than 8 weeks to live... 3 years ago !!
LW hope you are feeling better.
TA scream as much as you like.If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Silver Oldie, my mum's my mum and nothing will change that but she was unpleasant and dismissive to my DS on the phone yesterday. It is hard work, isn't it.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

TA, my brother fitted the kitchen in their house. My sis-in-law cooked Christmas Dinner for 8 with the oven balanced on a WorkMate.
The last time I had a new kitchen it arrived in huge boxes and filled the only sitting room in my small cottage. I just had room to manoeuvre my hand behind a box to a socket and plug the kettle in. For a week we ate takeaways sitting on our beds.
Not much longer for you. It will be lovely!I believe that friends are quiet angels

Afternoon all.
TA rant away !
My time for a rant now ! Please look away if you're of a delicate disposition _pale_
We went over the 'van and my heart sank as there was sheep manure all up the side of our cover and the hitchlock cover has been destroyed . I couldn't put up with trying to not step in the sheep p00 either, so we have moved the 'van to a secure storage facilty, which cost an arm and a leg, but at least I will sleep better at night and not have to worry about any more damage from bl00dy sheep ! It felt very sad to leave too as we have been at that farm for 30 years. I was so upset I made Mr Fix It take me out for lunch. We have spent the last 2 hrs trying to clean the cover at home
.
Nelski Have a hug or two. I didn't think about a fireman's lift, more about the fireman's chopper........... er axe :rotfl::rotfl:.
LW glad your ok after the tumble, sorry I must have missed that yesterday.
AOD and Silver-Oldie hugs. I hope I don't turn into a miserable or rude parent, it's a horrible way to behave.
Talking of parents I may be late posting tomorrow, as I am going up Dad's to change his bed and do a bit of cleaning. So I have put my "excuse me" letter in advance.

Hi chums I am a happy old dear at the moment my smashing son-in-law thinks it was only the pipe that had worked loose He came round this morning before going to work bless him and not only tightened it up but cleaned the floor where the washing machine was as it hadn't been moved since it was installed so it was pretty mucky Fingers crossed I won't have anymore leaks hopefully My friend came down for lunch and we had a great knit and natter. Big salad lunch and I'm still feeling full so I won't bother with much dinner tonight I'll make do with fruit and yogurt
Nice springlike day today though and my arm is getting better all the time I have to host tomorrow morning's U3A coffee morning which I always enjoy and then tomorrow night its quiz night so no dinner to cook then either Happy days a couple of night soff from cooking
Cheers chums

Can you hear that noise?! It's my washer spinning after its second washload of the night! woo-hoo! It's not in situ yet but the emptying pipe can reach the new drainage place and is plugged into an extension lead until the electrician connects the new wall socket for it! The installer kindly rigged it up for me before he left! It has to be moved again tomorrow but at least I can get my washing up to date! A much deserved glass of wine or two now awaits! Night all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
