    Morning all
An early start for us as the window man is here doing the last of the work. Shouldn't take too long now and at last I can see the light at the end of the tunnel :j.
I had a fitful night worrying that he wouldn't turn up, silly really as he arrived on time as he said he would.
We have finally got the paint to match the rest in the living room after a bit of trial and error, so I can get a pot and some wallpaper paste ( I've already got a roll of the paper left over from last time we decorated, how OS is that !) at B&q on Wed as it's old fogies day. Gosh I can't believe how much the cost of paint has gone up either !
Plenty of work for me in the house today, still moving the dust about . But it appears I am losing the plot as I have lost a metal tape measure, a set of curtain tie-backs, a large box of curtain hooks, my mind etc :rotfl:. If I'm really bored there is always the dreaded ironing :(.
I think tea tonight will be an easy bacon and egg.
Hope everyone has a good Monday. Take care. Hugs all round.

Cooler and cloudy here, CHS is working the late shift today so need to go in at lunchtime.
I've stripped the bed and taken off the thick under blanket so I need to go to the laundrette and no doubt fight off the thieving !!!!!! who hang around the place.
Yes I know it's racist but they tried to steal my washing and went through my bag last time I w last there.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Good morning chums, and a bright and sunny day it seems to be so far. I am awaiting my son-in-law coming to have a look at my washing machine as when I came down this morning there was a small pool of water by the side of it, so maybe I either have a leak in it, or one of the hoses has perished.

Weird as in the past 50 odd years its the first time its ever happend .But Simon will have a shufti bless him, and tell whats the prognosis

Its only about 5 years old and gets used about once a week or maybe twice at the most .Fingers crossed its not too bad.

MY oldest friend June is coming down today to lunch from Dartford and I have got some of the gammon I made in my King Pro cooker about a month ago out of the freezer so we shall have a nice big salad and I got some jersey royals to go with it.

Lots of knitting and nattering going on as well :)

We go off on our annual holidays shortly in the first week of June to Stratford -upon-Avon this year.We have a nice cottage booked for a week and will tour the local areas around there.

Hope everyone has a good day and where ever you are the sun is shining, my arm is feeling so much better now thank goodness

    Cheers chums

Mum day today ho hum she has been a lot more aminable lately but last night told me my fish pie was awful :rotfl: apparently it was dry and who on earth puts prawns in they were horrible ???? It wasn't dry she just cremates everything .....was a bit annoyed but hey more for me next time :) Tempted to tell her to find her own way to Morrisons today the ungrateful witch but of course I didnt. So today will be lots of fun i'm sure :D Rant over :)

Hope mum is speaking to you silver-oldie feel guilty for mum ranting when your situation is so much worse I would be ranting at them for not sorting the lift out.

nanny I did think of firemen (well lets be honest thats fairly normal for me ) but I dont think a firemans lift would have been required so whats the point? :D

Right best get on enjoy your day if you can :A

    Morning all,
Hugs and spoons to those in need.

Doing a passable imitation of john Wayne this morning after riding Bruise mare on Saturday!!! She did not think she should walk, so we jogged and trotted for most of the way around our regular ride. Its not a particularly long route but i'm definitely feeling it today. Scooby mare was sound at last ( months of ooh me's) so it was nice to get themout together.
Sun has just broken through but its a cold wind. Have to go and see if Rileycat is out of his pit yet, shortly.
Mrs m back to work today after a week off with a heavy cold, which she has kindly recycled in my direction!
better go sort out the recycling so the lovely bin men can distribute it tomorrow over the road as usual.

    Bye for now

    Morning all,

Back to being cool and grey skies, but we managed a BBQ on Saturday evening with DSons. We had tidied all the back up & pulled the table out from its winter position and gave everything a good clean. We refreshed some of the pots out there with fresh plants so its looking nice. When we came back from orange diy store it was to find DGS duvet and pillows on the front where the DGC had been playing dens!We have artificial turf down at the front ,it's great! Its a good quality one so looks pretty realistic & best of all no mowing. The young couple at the end have just had some put down in their back so their 18 mth old can play.

I thought I had hayfever on Sat night as I was sneezing like mad,but its turned out to be a cold, don't know where I got that from, can't blame the children this time.

Hope you got back to sleep Judi, what a horrible dream.
    Hugs Silver oldie
LW sorry to hear you've had a fall.
Snoozer really hope Guys can help DD.
Nannywindow we were shocked at how much paint was now too
I was going to do some more painting upstairs today but I dont want to fall off my ladder when I sneeze.especially with a loaded paint roller in my hand :D .I've got a fair bit of admin to do for DH so might just do that today.
TA your sink sounds lovely, the end of the job is in sight :)

Hugs to anyone else who needs one ,and have a good day xx

  • Update: Phoned the council about the wet room floor yet again, success at last, the head honcho is coming out to look at it tomorrow afternoon, they think its still under guarantee, it went in 31st August 2016.

At least the smell has gone, but the cupboard door is open all the time, we had a shower yesterday, the towel we put down is wringing wet and the stain has started to creep along the board near the door again.
  • Can I just pop on to scream AAAAAAAAARGH!!! There has been drilling, banging and sawing all morning and I really am fed up. I am envious of those of you who had kitchens fitted quickly! Although the first two days were taken up by the electrician doing rewiring of circuits (or something?) and new wiring for appliances changing position and next day the plasterer. This is only (!!!!!) actually the 4th day for the installers so maybe I am being impatient!?

Rant/moan over - for now! Thanks for listening xx

    Scream away! It all helps.

My day has been fairly quiet - students are working on their reports so not much for me to do there. My online banking is wonky because of TSB problems but moving monies is not urgent yet.

I've had to 'correct' the figures given to me by my car dealer, he added up wrong. All is OK and sorted.

I've made a peanut butter and banana cake which is cooling just now. The topping will be made shortly. It's a new recipe to me so I' hoping that it works out, it's from W aitrose food magazine which I've got as an app on my phone.

I hope that everyone enjoys their evening, it's cold again here!
