OK so get him to do a free credit check to find if there really is a CCJ.

The problem with the free ones is most get updated monthly. (Fine if you know any ccj would have been ordered against you a long time ago)

Whereas the trust site is updated daily.

So a recent CCJ may not show up on a free site

He has drafted an email asking why he has not received an LBC and stating that he has not received Court papers. Also asking why the CCJ was lodged on 9th April and they only wrote to him to tell him on 18th April. I!!!8217;m slightly worried now about asking for further advice for fear of being told off again but yes I have read the Newbie threads but you must try to remember it seems very complicated, daunting and even frightening trying to sort this out when we are not used to this sort of thing. I!!!8217;ve told him to email Gladstone every day asking for this information which I!!!8217;m hoping will help him when he does have to go to court. Should we just wait now. BTW my daughter at uni just called to say she has an Horizon parking ticket from a Sainsbury car park! Please give me strength.

Contact the Northampton CCBC and ask them to which address the initial court documents were issued - Gladstones won't have that information (and are unlikely to be helpful anyway).

It's a busy phone line, so you may have to hang on. It might well have to be your son making that call, given that it's he who has the CCJ.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

we know its hard but you need to man up because you need the hard facts, not tea and biscuits (not from here anyway)

now that you and he are aware of the CCJ you dont have long to decide what to do about it

after one month its on his record and stays there for 6 years , so if you pay up in full it will be clear as long as its done in time (within one month of the judgement date)

gladrags will say its the court that needed to inform your son , not them , which takes time as they are very busy

if you want to get it "set aside" you need to get a shift on and pay £255 to set it in motion , if successful you can ask for the £255 back IF your son wins the court case (as the court case will still need to be fought) , but not if he loses

so decide what you are doing about it at the earliest opportunity , dont assume gladrags will email him back promptly, they may delay it until the 31 days are up , to make it harder for your son to deal with it , so get your son to phone Northampton CCBC tomorrow and find out those details as mentioned by Umkomaas above (name and address on the MCOL and CCJ etc)

yes they are bullies and devious, ask the MP,s who voted on the new bill last february

so its make your mind up time, no dilly dallying

as for this other pcn , tell that person to read the NEWBIES sticky thread and appeal it promptly , bearing in mind that this saga could repeat itself

and complain to your MP, not us , we didnt make this broken system, but we give our time and advice freely to those of you who are behind the times and ignorant of this topic

yes its a sc@m, but it wont change until Sir Greg Knight,s bill becomes law and in any case it wont help you or your family with these 2 issues either

ps:- the main reason people get "told off" is if the answers they seek are already in that NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread , its been honed to near perfection and is better advice than if you went to the CAB or paid a solicitor , and its free too, (its our "bible" , so make it yours and your familys too)

Thanks for your advice. Just tried to send email but Gladstones do not have an email address just a payment line number! Unbelievable. He is going to send a letter registered tomorrow. He will ring Northampton Court in the morning asking about the address the papers were sent to but how do we get an LBC if we can!!!8217;t contact Gladstones. Did you know their office is based in a golf club?! Also coupon-mad said on the Newbie thread that we could get help with a court defence and users of this site have had a 99% success rate or at least a lower fee. He has no money anyway so it!!!8217;ll be me paying it. Please advise

reading back, it seems strange that the HORIZON pcn letters came to the correct keeper address , yet you claim that NO gladrags or court letters came to this same address even though all previous letters about this did

it may well be that when gladrags filled in the MCOL details they mistyped something , like the address for example, in which case its not too surprising (due diligence is not their forte)

this is why its important for your son to find out from the CCBC where all the court letters went, as this is important for any set aside

galdrags recently moved to that golf club address having had issues with their red cow yard address nearby previously, so yes we do know

I am sure that the gladrags email address has been published in various threads on here numerous times over the last few years, there is nothing "new" about this whole topic , its all been reheated and rehashed thousands of times so far

by "registered" , I assume you mean "signed for" as the PO dont do "registered" any more

I think we've seen cases where the incorrect details have been similarly filed.

Here's their email addresses, but make your (or son's) call to the CCBC first.

Ok we will see what the court tells him tomorrow but as we can!!!8217;t contact Gladstones I guess we will never know about the LBC. Is it ok if I post on here tomorrow after he finds out?

Please switch off your 'Smart Punctuation' on your iPhone/iPad to avoid the littering of your posts with !!!!8820; and the like, as every apostrophe and some other punctuations convert to exclamation marks and numbers.

Go to 'General' > 'Keyboard' > 'Smart Punctuation' and flick the switch off.

Switching off seems to have no detrimental affect on any other use of the keyboard.
