  • No, I just pick out the better bits to talk about :rotfl: I suppose in many ways I'm lucky in that I've got to do a job I love, I've many stories to tell the granchildren (my kids are sick of hearing them) and I've met some great people along the way. But, there isn't half a lot of crap that goes with it. It isn't all parties and rock n roll, it's poverty for a lot of the time never knowing when you'll be paid, divas, fights, being ripped off by record companies, spending half your life on a bus with 15 other people and not being able to hold a relationship with anyone who isn't within the industry because they just don't understand why you're hardly ever home... still jealous?:D

A lot of this rings a bell: spending half your life on a bus with 30 other members of the public all coughing a sneezing on you, Personnel mucking up so you never get paid on time, Recruitment agencies ripping you off, etc, etc... and I'VE never met Gruff Rhys and whoever else you've rubbed shoulders with! (Don't tell me! The nearest I've come to mingling with the stars is when Matt Goss stayed at the hotel I worked at a couple of years ago!)

Well, I'm CERTAINLY not discounting it, peb - my Royal Mail interview is on Monday, so I will listen to what's on offer.

Exactly, we all have to deal with the same stuff, it's just it's packaged differently. And, people are just people no matter what they have done or how much money they've made, you get nice ones and @ssholes in all walks of life.

    Hi,
Have been lurking on this thread for a few days and would love to join in next week if that's OK. (not this week as I am just about to hand over £2000 for a new boiler )
Anyway, could anyone explain the 'rules' for me. I presume amount you budget is for non-essentials. Also, why is challenge sunday to friday - what happens on saturday. Do you set new amount each week?
    Thanks Jess

BTW - Toto - I got Allience and Leicester account through Quidco 12 months ago. Have never received the money and have had an enquiry to Quidco marked as 'sent to merchant' for 10 months.

Well done Gemmzie - What is it that makes DFW's so generous, when they often have next to nothing themselves? :A :A

Well done on the job Rog - congrats to you!!

As I posted yesterday, took a friend shopping today, and am sooooooooooo weak - I bought lunch. But it was only £5.96 for 2 adults and 1 child, and it was the only un-budgeted spend!

Will try and do better tomorrow!
