Fantastic news Rog
I'm hopefully back on the wagon this week. I hope to maintain a NS today (have a sandwich for lunch with me and dinner tonight in the slow cooker already). It's also payday which because I'm anal about bean counting I really like to organise my money for the month
super duper!
Have a good day everyone.MFi3 member 105 - MFW date Oct 2023 - 12 years 9 months more0 -

Of course Jacks - we ALL have to make sacrifices in the pursuit of 'sociability' and your 'sacrifice' will be much appreciated.:rotfl: :rotfl:

I worked with the super furries a couple of years ago at a festival. Someone had this really smart idea of putting the whole band in these electric light up suits. They were white from head to foot and had these luminous electric strips on them. Only the person who designed them didn't take into account of the great british weather. It was P*ssing down and the rain was coming at a 90 degree angle onto the stage. The whole band were scared stiff that they would be electricuted live on stage... it was a quick set that night :rotfl:
(Can anyone tell me how to attribute quotes to the person who actually said it? I can't work it out!!)
Hehe, I think I remember reading about that at the time - poor souls! You do live an amazing life Toto from the little I've read on here, I'm so jealous!
Rog - congrats on the job, your news really cheered me up - I'm going to crack open a Bounty now in a minute!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Not doing great on the NSD front at all at the moment. One week til payday though:j
Today I withdrew £10 and used £3 to buy a sarnie and a coffee. It pushed me into overdraft by £5 and change for 15 mins til I transferred money from the EF into it :phew!:
I'll have to see what's in the cupboard that I can use for sarnies tomorrow. Not got a microwave at work anymore so heating food is not an option. Will purchase a food flask from a camping shop just after payday, so I can bring in leftovers most days :j .The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -
Hiya!
Well done Rog2! I don't know if you've seen the episode of Phoenix Nights where Jerry St Clair has a job singing songs about black bin bags and corned beef in Asda, but I'm very much hoping that's what your welcome day will be like.
In other news, I went out for a walk at lunchtime, so spending should be averted for the day.
Keep it low everyone!Overpay!0 -

No, I just pick out the better bits to talk about :rotfl: I suppose in many ways I'm lucky in that I've got to do a job I love, I've many stories to tell the granchildren (my kids are sick of hearing them) and I've met some great people along the way. But, there isn't half a lot of crap that goes with it. It isn't all parties and rock n roll, it's poverty for a lot of the time never knowing when you'll be paid, divas, fights, being ripped off by record companies, spending half your life on a bus with 15 other people and not being able to hold a relationship with anyone who isn't within the industry because they just don't understand why you're hardly ever home... still jealous?:D:A

Ok, I've another one to add to my list of confessions this week and actually I think this is a bit shocking. I nipped into town to pick up dds meds which I couldn't be bothered to do yesterday, on the way out I ended up in M&S where I bought a sandwich... then drove home to eat it:o:A

Congrats Rog! Great news - you might even be able (short term) to do Royal Mail as welll with those hours?
NSD here for yesterday and today, blipped on Monday buying cooked meats for sandwiches (I have 12 tins of Tuna in stock!) and chocolate biscuits - forgot I had bough special offer mini bags of buttons on Sunday for lunches.
So far have resisted take out chinese - didn't even know I liked it until a friend took me out last week and treated me.0
