I think what is lacking is common sense and I'm afraid your total over reaction to this.

Santander sent me a leaflet about the FO in a final response letter that also said get in touch again with Santander again if you are unhappy as well LOL. This was from someone who had refused to pass on my concerns to Santander about their conduct ?

Following advice from, the Santander website, the Financial Ombudsman for which Santander sent me a leaflet,,,, this website, this website forum and by using simple questions, telephone calls and emails............

How did i over react please ?

Could you recommend a supplier of Tin hats please? where did you get yours ? I could not find one on eBay
Some members of this forum love mentioning tin foil hats when they've got nothing sensible to add.

    Hi All,

I'm looking for some advice...I've recently been made aware that I might qualify for Income Support.

I live in a Full Service UC area and am scared that I'll have to switch to that if I try and claim as it would be seen as a change of circumstances.

Im a full timer carer for my disabled child and receive carers allowance and my wife works 16 hrs a week. We are also in receipt of Tax Credits.

Ive used the usual benefits calculators and they point to me being eligible based on our circumstances but Im worried that If I try to claim for IS ill end up being made to claim UC hise withb your position and if that is the case potentially being worse off by over £100 a month...

Has anyone any advice or been in a similar situation?

Thank you for spending your valuable time in responding to my post about Santander Bank and Credit Cards.
I sympathise with the situation you mention above.

family time in these circumstances is valuable and for you to find time to respond to me is very kind of you

Good luck with your claims. I am told that the Benefits system in the uk can be difficult I would suggest contacting the Citizens Advice Bureau.

Good luck with your claims and i sincerely hope your benefits are not reduced by ...£100 a month from the government ..."potentially being worse off by over £100 a month..."

Mind you I envy your visit to Disneyland Florida in 2013.

I thank you again for your have a beer emoticon

...The thing is i set up alerts with Santander to text me an alert about balance limits and not admin about my account.

Take it this is about a current or credit card account?.
If so, take a look at:
    https://www.santander.co.uk/uk/help-support/account-alerts
You will be automatically registered for some alerts (credit card and current account customers only), ...

Full description about the type of alerts are here:

    https://www.santander.co.uk/csdlvlr/Satellite?c=SANDocument_C&cid=1324566126251&leng=en_GB&pagename=WCSUKPublicaLte%2FSANDocument_C/SANDocumentPreview

They mention: Account balance falls below a certain amount, Account balance goes above a
    certain amount etc.

Changing statement preferences is not one of them.

About contact via text or secure message (in the terms and conditions):
22.2.1 - If you do not want us to contact you by email, text or secure
    message:
    a) You may ask us at any time not to continue to do so and to indicate your future communications preference.
    .........
    d) You cannot opt out of text messages if you have subscribed to mobile banking.

Seems silly that you have to opt out of ALL sms messages in order to stop account admin messages.

I'm glad you pointed this out to me because if I recall when i read them they said the responses to their text will either be Y or N.
The two texts they sent me asked for a response of "1" and not a "Y" or a "N"?

it will be interesting to see how it pans out.
