Can you use Section75 if you forget to renew your childs passport

Options
While we should have checked the passports - we didn't and we only noticed the night before when we were looking to check in on line that our daughters passport had run out.

As a result we could not fly the next day.

We did pay for the original holiday using our credit card so I am wondering whether or not we can use Section 75 to recoup our loss ??

Of course you can't, it's your fault.

  • Was the passport more than £100?

Has anybody anywhere broken a contract?

In the politest possible way, you have no chance.

Thank you for making me laugh!

Really sorry for your misfortune, but the idea that any kind of consumer protection would protect against one's own errors is rather wide of the mark.

Why should your credit card provider foot the bill for your carelessness? Why should the tour operator/airline/hotel foot the bill for your own carelessness?

Do you even know what Section 75 protection is? It's to protect you from a supplier not delivering goods or services as advertised, when you pay by your credit card. Your plane seats were available for you to use. So was your hotel room.

These posts get better every day! Unless it's an end -of-the-week wind up, which if it is, fair play

I think merging a couple of Tom Hanks films would be the way forwards.

Saves admitting the error to family.

Please explain why they should cover the cost of you not being able to forward plan or keep an eye on important documents, I’m genuinely curious as to how anyone would possibly even think of using S75 for this.

As a species, we’re doomed, we really are
