While we should have checked the passports - we didn't and we only noticed the night before when we were looking to check in on line that our daughters passport had run out.
As a result we could not fly the next day.
We did pay for the original holiday using our credit card so I am wondering whether or not we can use Section 75 to recoup our loss ??

Was the passport more than £100?

Thank you for making me laugh!
Really sorry for your misfortune, but the idea that any kind of consumer protection would protect against one's own errors is rather wide of the mark.0 -

Why should your credit card provider foot the bill for your carelessness? Why should the tour operator/airline/hotel foot the bill for your own carelessness?
Do you even know what Section 75 protection is? It's to protect you from a supplier not delivering goods or services as advertised, when you pay by your credit card. Your plane seats were available for you to use. So was your hotel room.
These posts get better every day! Unless it's an end -of-the-week wind up, which if it is, fair play :beer:0 -
Why did you not go on the holiday and leave the child with a family member?0

Please explain why they should cover the cost of you not being able to forward plan or keep an eye on important documents, I’m genuinely curious as to how anyone would possibly even think of using S75 for this.
