I'm a first time buyer purchasing a shared ownership property from a housing association. Mortgage valuation has come through OK, and my solicitor has been speedy but the housing association's solicitors are being slow in drawing up the lease. It's frustrating!0

Good luck to all fellow 'by Christmas' movers!:D
We had an offer accepted on a 3 bed house at the end of Sep. Put our flat on the market beginning of Oct...and waited....
Started to worry a bit after 3 weeks of little happening, and all the scary threads about market crashes on here...decided to go to fixed price (which is only 2 grand under what we want for the place) and had 3 viewers straight away.
3 days later...an offer for full amount has been madeand they want to complete by 30th Nov.
Only downside for me is that I have 3 kids, one being a 3 months baby - so I am going to have an extremely hectic Chrimbo this year!!:eek:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I had my offer accepted 2 days ago after accepting an offer on my house a month ago.
The vendor of the house I'm buying wants to complete before Xmas. There are only 3 of us in the chain.
What are the chances of that happening?0 -
Jet it is possible.
I am still waiting for my solicitor to get a copy of the lease. Hopefully we can exchange at the end of this week.0 -
Well my solicitor got a copy of the lease off the land registry but its an incomplete one. I phoned up the solicitors who i purchased the house with a few years ago and they checked the files in storage. It turns out that they accidently have the original, so they will pass them along. Hopefully thats everything now and we are looking at completing on the 30th. Heres hoping0

We sold our house originally in August 2006. Finally completed last week with buyer number 4 so good luck to you all..... You'll need it0

This is a tough time of year to sell a house or buy one too. Good luck to all.0

How long has the process been for you so far?
Me and my partner are first time buyers, we agreed a sale on a house two weeks ago, we have filled in all the forms for the solicitors and they should have them today and the survey was done on the house we are purchasing last Friday. We are yet to hear of the findings but we are pretty sure that nothing major is going to come up on it.
The lady who we are buying the house from already has somewhere to go and has said she would like to be out by Xmas, this is ideal as we would like to be in by then as well.
Currently we are aiming for round about 10th December to be in.
Hi,
My partner and i are first time buys too, we agreed the price in the first week of september and are in a chain of 3. There have been no complications so far but as yet we are not in. Looks like its going to be the first week in December. I suggest you set your sights a little lower in terms of being in for arounf the 10th of December. Although it is possible, in my experience of being in roughly the same position as you, it may take longer. For free bets and promotions visit...

I spoke to our HA and they say the house isn't even registered yet after being built about 7 months ago! Not a happy bunny as it will take 4-6 weeks for that to go through.0

Despite our Vendors being the ones who wanted a completion date of the 30th Nov it is now their solicitors dragging their feet having still not sent out documentation 2 weeks after being asked for it and 1 week after promising it would be in the post that day. I phoned the EA today and said I would be phoning everyday until the lawyer confirmed it was actually IN the post. It's ridiculous as they have being trying to sell the house for 4 months so it isn't like their solicitors didn't know this information would be needed. Grrr.
Anyway still crossing fingers.0
