You've really got to stop embarrassing yourselves.
I'm presuming either English isn't your first language or you struggle with English comprehension? The only embarrassing thing is your inability to understand what you've written (or your inability to write what you actually want to say).
If that isn't what you mean to say, perhaps you should reword your allegation without the statement?====0 -
OP, you did state you considered you had been mislead, or lied too. Both the same things, even although admittedly two different ways of wording it.
Don't attack others here because you dislike what you've been advised and your own opening post content quoted.
No one here can answer for Halifax, give them a call, they will either confirm your thoughts or advised otherwise.
I suggest you in future read the forum rules and disengaged attacking others here.0 -

And yet you continue to do so, funny how that works out, right? Just accept defeat.
Still, two helpful posters out of six isn't bad. Thanks to the two who actually provided advice, good to know this forum isn't only condescending solipsists.
You mean 2 posters said what you wanted to hear? Your initial statement is clear that you consider the Halifax at fault and want people to tell you that you are correct, when people offered alternative views you have attacked them because they didn't agree with you.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

What I wanted to hear was useful advice, presented in a positive and helpful way. So yes, 2 posters provided that.
As I have stated numerous times (if you had bothered to read, but something tells me you've only focused on what interests you more), that is absolutely not my view. I have never once stated that Halifax are at fault. I made clear at the start that I had not yet called them, however as I wasn't sure a card could be unblocked at this point or not, I wanted to get from this thread i) whether it's possible for them to be unblocked given the circumstances and ii) if there does happen to be an issue when I call them, where do I stand given what I was told originally? I like to be prepared.
It really is that simple and I'm amazed that you guys continue to focus on something that I have already clarified time and time again. At least I know I'm not the only one that has faced this sort of negative response on this forum. Very disappointing to say the least.0 -
It's important to note that the card has never defaulted. And it is still showing as open on my credit file.
Have you checked all 3 of your files to see how the information may differ?

Are there lots of late payment markers as in 1, 2, 3, 4 etc for when you originally missed the payments and before you joined Stepchange?
You may not have been given a default per se, but the account itself has been in default since you ran into difficulties a few years back and entered into a debt management programme with Stepchange. There is a difference.
Where did this 'minimum payment' figure of £250 come from? Especially if your balance was £700. Is it written on your statements?I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly, and I can move and merge threads there. Your view of "useful" advice is not advice that is correct, but rather, something that tells you what you want to hear.
A negative response would be to insult you. Telling you the correct advice, even if you do not want to hear it, is not negative, rather it would be negative (indeed, reckless and stupid) to give you advice that you want to hear if it's incorrectSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

I would suggest you contact them again to clarify but obviously at the moment the card is still blocked. As you defaulted on a stepchange arrangement previously this may have been referred up to credit control and it may take someone else other than the person you spoke to say yea or nay. If you need that £250 to live off then ask if they can refund it.
Personally given your previous debt problems I would not use credit for day to day expenses and continue using cash until you are debt free. If you still have a DMP for other debts you should not be using credit anyway. Have you checked all three credit files to see if there are any defaults showing on it? MrHazard, you seem to be putting a lot of energy into the 'discussions' on this board. Might I suggest that you use your time more wisely by actually phoning your card provider and asking the question of them.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0
