They have definitely become a bit of a tradition here. I used to spend hours making birthday cakes when they were little but I think they much prefer Colin.
I need to report that I been out for my first run in about 5 months. I stopped running because I had a couple of funny turns. I have had two ECGs since and the Dr remarked it was better than hers so I think I am good to goI jumped into c-5k at week 5 and all was good. DD and pup ( she has a running lead) did it with me just in case I keeled over. I really enjoyed it but the wind was bitter, next time I need something to cover my ears. I am feeling great now. I had forgotten how much running lifts my mood.
We are going to collect some wooden drawers DD has been given today (from a garage) . She wants to have a go at upcycling them. The conveyancing on the house is painfully slow. This should be so straightforward, a first time buyer and an empty house with only one movement of money. It all feels a bit jobsworth and linear. I am sure they could do a bit of process engineering to speed things up. Anyhoo, I think it will be at least another couple of weeks.I am cooking a roast today. A lump of beef I chopped off one that was too big at Christmas, also using up the last of the sprouts and carrots from the Aldi cheepo Christmas deal. DS who is in our bubble is also coming.4 -

My new diary is here2 -
Good Morning. We had heavy snowfall in Yorkshire all day on Thursday. Around 6 inches of snow, the buses were cancelled and car were being abandoned. As a result yesterday was a proper snow day. Schools were cancelled even for key workers and children told to do their school work online. I had a wry little smile at that. Does that signal the end of the joy of proper snow days for future generations of kids, where they get the day off school and get to play in the snow ? Will they now get told they can do there classes online ?
Anyway, I was technically working yesterday , but only had one meeting booked in because Fridays were going to be my day off. I have still got the hump about not being able to take them off completely. I have already worked my hours this week, so after my one meeting I went for a walk in the snow with Mr Mee and the pup. It was gorgeous and we found quite a bit of virgin snow in the fields for the pup to zoom through. He loves it and becomes positively joyful in the snow. It was quite hard work walking though and the lanes were quite treacherous with the ice.
DD's BF cooked us an American style feast last night, sliders, hot chicken, bourbon chicken and nachos. It was lovely, but so much food. They have been really good at cooking and buying food for meals as their contribution to the household, while they have both been living here. She still has no news on the house, we are hoping that it will go though before the end of January.Mr Mee and I are secretly looking forward to it too. Much as we love them, it will be good to see them get their own place and for us to have ours. This will be the first time in 30 years we won't have had at least one child living at homeDS also came round. He is working at the vaccine hub a few days a week and tells us that they have more or less finished the over 80s and are moving on to the over 75s. I was quite surprised that he was saying that they are being quite flexible and where an elderly person is turning up with their spouse to an appointment, they are doing both of them even if the spouse isn't booked in. They are ramping up to a 1000 vaccines a day next week.
Nothing much planned this weekend. I need to go out-out to M&S for DD's birthday cake but other than that, not much planned. Have a good weekend3 -
I know I'm a little late (and the snow has probably put a spoke in your wheel), but well done for returning to C25K. I'm on a weight loss journey at present, but exercise has been the missing link to date.
You raise an interesting point about home learning and disappearing "snow days", but I suppose in normal times the teachers wouldn't have had warning and wouldn't have a study plan ready? That said, the Head Teachers are probably savvy like you and will make teachers bank a few lessons, even once we blast coronavirus!
Your food sounded delicious!1
