@Busy_Mee - your description of conveyancing from the other day was perfect - it's positively Dickensian at times! 😅

Asda is the least Covid-secure supermarket round here too - a lot less consideration displayed by my fellow shoppers 🙁

  • There are only 3 valid reasons to go to our Asda. 1. Petrol, 2. The Pizza's, 3. Cakes that you put a photo on!

Ah, but their frozen fruit salad smells divine (if you're into that sort of thing 🤣). Definitely worth going just for that!

I'm getting Mr A deliveries twice a week. I absolutely would not cope well with going in store.

Morning all. Just popping in for a quick update, not that there is much to update. It has been the same old, same old this week, only colder.

The big freeze arrived, but not in the way of too much snow. We have had very bright, sunny freeeezing days. And joy of joys no sludge, as everything is frozen solid. I have loved walking the dog this week.

There is still no news on DDs house other than a few more jobsworthy emails asking for things that were provided months ago. They now decide they want a hard copy rather than an electronic copy sent before Christmas  :/.    It does feel like they are actually preparing to exchange but who knows when.

I have read a good book this week " Where the Crawdads sing"  It has been at the top of the bestsellers for weeks and I now know why. I waited for it to be reduced to 99p on Kindle in true MSE fashion.

I now have another recommendation " The Midnight Library " down loaded on Audible to listen to at lunchtimes ( if I get one) as a break from looking at screens.

We also watched Zerozerozero on Netflix about drug cartels. Not my normal sort of thing, with quite a bit of violence but a great storyline.

DS was coming to dinner tonight but some idiot turned up for their vaccine yesterday and despite answering no to all the COVID questions, then sat down to be vaccinated and casually told the vaccinator that he has a bit of a cough and can't taste anything. Cue vaccinator sent home, booth shut and everyone else being practically hosed down. So I won't see him tonight because he doesn't want to risk carrying anything to us.  The stupidity of some people.....

I am cooking two new recipes tonight. Delia's Beef au Poivre with Hasselback potatoes and Thomasina Mier's Mexican cheesecake. I will probably do a doorstep delivery to DS so he doesn't miss out.

    Have a great Sunday everyone
  • What is wrong with people 🤦‍♀️! It's not as though the symptoms are a mystery 🙄 Sorry the idiot has spoiled your plans, off to Google Mexican cheesecake now....

  • Hi BusyMee so sorry to hear about that ridiculous person; the selfishness is unbelievable. Hope DS is alright and you have a nice day despite it all. CM
  • Thanks both. DS should be fine because he has had his first vaccine but he didn't want to carry anything to us. None of us have had the vaccine and DD's BF  is in a clinically vulnerable group. Hoping that he has his vaccine any day now.

I will report back on the Mexican cheesecake. If it turns out OK it is a good way of using up sour cream.
