Cumbria Lass I am going to do it in the right order so the plan is to ask her to start the decorating in November and use September/October to get the window put in.
Beanie and Abba1772 you are right. I definitely got lucky with the laptop repair
Chrystal you make sense. The sooner I get the tradesmen in the sooner I can relax. At the same time I need to be careful not to over-stress myself as I’ve not been back at work that long. That said, I called the plumber and he is coming to quote next week :T
Today I have frittered money away on food, drinks, snacks and travel but the worst is I paid for an expensive film ticket on a whim. To get the price down I paid a membership fee and then bought tickets. Once I pay fares to get there this impulse would have cost me £108. INSANE. Because I am a wuss about asking for my money I paid for my friend’s ticket too. STUPID. It isn’t her fault but whenever I am around her I overspend. When I start my new 4 day week we won’t overlap on a regular basis and maybe it is just as well.
£108 could have gone towards my emergency savings. It is done now but I notice this sort of ridiculous impulsiveness happens when I am tired
I hope you all had a good MSE day
Edit
Called decorator and agreed a start date of beginning of October to give me time to put the window inIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

As well as impulse spending I am impulse eating.
This is especially bad (not to mention expensive) as I have been away from home every day this week. I am supposed to be eating low carb but then I am eating chaotically and I am tired so I have been craving sugar and crisps are rearing their ugly heads again. So today I will be creating some healthy meals that include healthy carbs.
Tahini lemon and ginger sauce
Quinoa
Lentil and veg soup
Raw veggie platter with humous, olives, pickles and toasted cashews
Thai fish curry
Stock bubbling away
Washing machine humming away
First lot of dishes washed
So thankful to be working from home today

Sounds like some positive progress, despite the cravings for badness. I too have fallen off the eating and exercising wagon since being away with work last week so getting back into it on Monday once my busy weekend is over.
Glad you've booked in the painter as this will give you motivation to get the window situation sorted!
Enjoy your weekend.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

I wasn’t lazy yesterday I washed up several batches of dishes, did two loads of washing, made stock, cooked soup and a batch of quinoa whilst WFH. So why does the whole house look like I have been burgled and there is still washing up to do.
I am constantly living in a mess. Feeling annoyed with myself. Going to stay close to home and get my house in order today.
A friend gave me a lead on a builder yesterday so going to text her handyman to see if he can pass the number on to me.
Yesterday I did a L1d1 shop. Came in at under £50. Lots of jars and cans and awkward shapes and sizes like kitchen towels. So nice to load into my boot and drive away
A bill paid and accounts rejigged.
Meeting a friend for a coffee today.
Well I better get started

Still working through drudge —house still a mess but becoming less so.
Low energy today —restarted my iron and B vitamins.
Bought camomile tea to relax my system as all the coffee is making me jittery but the tea has liquorice in, so yuck. Will take into work for my team so not wasted. :money:
I had a can of smoked sardines for lunch. I don’t like them so will drop the other can in the food bank basket, so again, not wasted. :money:
Made a new hygienist appointment early Sept.
Made a batch of chilli and refrigerated.
Yesterday coffee with a friend in a lovely location felt like a little mini break. Must do that more often. It is only a 10 minute drive and parking was not an issue. I can see myself going there often when I have a dog too, as very dog friendly.
Pay day coming up so starting to think of where to allocate resources. Looking forward to boosting my emergency savings and spending less on fares and food this coming month.
Texted re builder contact and getting handyman to repoint. FROG EATEN.
Decluttering some items I do not enjoy living with and some books to the charity shop.
Film trip tonight —not looking forward to it but I am in that kind of mood.Objectively I am pleased to be able to afford leisure activities. A few years back there were no films for me, so I need to put my thankful head on and buck up.

It was a good film last night. I definitely pepped up so I am glad I pushed myself.
Now the 4 days are in sight I plan initially to have 2 of my 3 days off work staying local and not having scheduled appointments even when they are nice things. I don’t know why I need days with no appointments but I feel so much more able to manage generally when I have them.
I am doing a presentation tomorrow and have 2 tradesmen visiting on Thursday so (for me) a few out of my comfort zone-froggy days.:o
I found an early statement for a mortgage society, so on Friday when in the office I will be putting in a PPI claim. Nothing to lose by trying.:money:
I will have to buy a TV this pay day as mine is now sparking! I can put up with its other faults but now it is dangerous. This will screw my budget for September so I am annoyed.
The handyman got back and instead of just giving me the number for the builder as I asked he says he wants to come over ‘to advise’ me. I don’t want his advice I just want him to pass on the ***** number. I now remember why I stopped working with him.He is like the builder on my road both patronising and controlling at the same time.
A WFH day today so I will be sneaking in drudge tasks and I will be making giant fishmongers rolled in seeds.
Off to wash up.

I hope you responded to the handyman that you didn't ask for his advice, you asked for the builder's number. I think it's perfectly reasonable to say that you're more than capable of handling the builder on your own. That frustrates me! If I want advice, I will ask for it. Don't just assume that because I'm a woman, I need it.
Shame about the TV, but then it's one less thing to come out of October's budget if it broke then...
I think it's a nice idea to keep your appointments to particular days. It makes the non-appointment days less stressful.Sealed Pot Challenge 075

Can you do without the TV for a bit and watch online? I moved house without a TV around 20 years ago as I couldn't afford one and haven't got round to getting one yet...0
