    PAY DAY AT LAST :j

Yesterday I had a completely rubbish day at work. It is the people, and the things they do to be noticed and progress I find difficult, never my actual job. I am definitely a square peg in that organisation and sometimes I don’t mind but more and more I do. In addition I wasted 4 hours travelling due to train delays and cancellations. :(

After several NSDs I ate breakfast out, lunch out, bought chocolate, had 2 coffees and went to the pub to buy my colleagues a drink. (I had tonic water as I didn’t feel like drinking) I have had a few busy days out from 6am and either 9 or11pm so that explains a bit but it is also the feast after the famine :(

Siphoned off money for car purchase so there isn’t much left in my account once again. That is okay but I need to be careful again this month. I think 2 NSDs a week and a weekly shop should stop me frittering and I am going to do a TREAT OF THE WEEK to ensure I do not feel deprived ;)

WFH today so butterbeans are cooking and the washing machine is churning in the background

I am making a chicken, chorizo, butterbean and paprika thingy. Butterbeans already cooked.

I have lots of salad stuff and I will make a batch of quinoa too

I will making lists today for shopping, meals and budgets

Wishing you all a lovely BH weekend :)

Whenever I have some time to myself and I don’t have to go to sleep knowing I will have to rush out in the morning I feel able to plan and dream, which are different names for the same thing really.;)

I am going to try meditation. Just 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes after work when I get home. So many people talk about the benefits and I am a stress type person who burns out and gets migraines. So, giving it a try starting tonight.

I imagined the kitchen I will have by the Autumn after the stress and upheaval of putting it in. I wanted a micro business involving baking some time back. The obstacles were the council needing to pass my kitchen as fit and transporting the goodies. With a car and an oven and a decent kitchen that door opens again. So today I paid £4 for a baking stamp. One says ‘love’ and the other says ‘home made’ This little purchase will keep the dream alive. It isn’t all about the money, although that will come in handy. I just like making healthy bakes and I enjoy people enjoying my baking.:)

I bought YS goodies. My freezer was almost empty and I hate I was good I avoided tons of burgers and sausages and any processed foods. I concentrated on organic and free range chicken, prawns, salmon, and smoked salmon, veg, salads and fruits. Everything was 75% reduced and the salad bits were 90% reduced. A good haul.:T

Tomorrow is a busy day. I am out driving and I am going to a festival with one friend and then to dinner with another.

I hope your Sunday is bathed in light and peace (see, just thinking about meditation is making me more zen. Haha.)

Thanks parsniphead. I must get practical and stop daydreaming so much. Any actual baking is a long way off yet :o

I had a good day yesterday. A good driving lesson, fewer nerves and more enjoyment ;)

I sat outside a wine bar with a friend and we talked for a solid hour and people watched.:D

A lovely day yesterday at festival and meeting friends, but got home at 1am, luckily I was off today :)

Today I nearly bought ANOTHER teapot but stopped myself in time. I don’t need a teapot!

    Health and wellbeing
My feet are a disgrace. They are. I bought a foot thingy to make my feet smooth. It was £49.99 but it was labelled £19.99. The shop assistant rung it up at the former so I asked her to check the shelf. I was right and she gave me it for the price on the shelf. I have used it already. It is okay but it wouldn’t have been worth £49.99

I walked a mile and a half today. Not much, but better than nothing it wasn’t exactly walking weather…

I found some lovely shoes that suited me for a reasonable price but I could not buy them. I hid them behind some smaller shoes and I will sleep on it and go through my wardrobe to see what I could wear them.

I wanted to buy a blender. Mr S has a glass one for a budget price but it sold out so I will wait. My plan is to start making smoothies so I can take them with me when I leave the house early. It will stop me eating in coffee shops in the morning and save money in the long term. I’ve tried putting eggs in a flask but that doesn’t work and I can’t eat hot or smelly food at my desk.

I bought a water bottle that fits in my handbag so I can up my water intake. No need for a huge water bottle, there is always somewhere to refill it.

    I will swim tomorrow.

    The house
I have a holiday day tomorrow also. The plan is to go to the Swedish store to get my kitchen plans finalised.

I am cleaning my bathroom today and that shouldn’t be news but it is :o

I hope your day went well everyone :)

Lots of self discipline there DIA. I'm very impressed. I hope that no one found the shoes if you decide to buy them.

Thanks Parsniphead. I didn't go back :( There seem to be other more important priorities this month. I will be buying shoes next pay day...

I went to find the blender so I can begin to start the day with smoothies instead of expensive and unwise breakfast choices whilst on the move. The blender is made of glass as I didn’t want a plastic one. It was a budget one but it performed very highly in a Which survey. More expensive isn’t always better :)

Using the vacuum today was enjoyable. Go figure as the Americans say.

I had a holiday day but cancelled the afternoon to work instead as I didn’t want to waste the leave. I could have used it to clean but I refuse to use holidays for cleaning and drudgery…

I had an issue with my boss today :(

I STILL have squirrels. They are ignoring all efforts to get rid of them. The company is putting cameras in the loft tomorrow to see what the problem is.

I reclaimed my living room. I cleaned it. Put back a rug that was in storage. I repurposed a trunk under my bed to use as a coffee table. I put some paintings in there. (thank you Parsniphead for posting about art it made me review what I have) Later I will be cleaning the inside of the window and tomorrow the outside before work as I will be WFH.

The best thing is I bought a plant at the Swedish store. I had to go for a meeting about the kitchen. It totally changes the room. PLEASE LET IT LIVE. I can’t believe a plant can alter the feel of a room so much. I am going to try and have a green plant in every room. I will take my time with this and some of the plants will just cost a few pounds.

I need the window film (The Swedish store don’t do it) if I can get it I can remove the curtains and get them taken up, the window will be sorted.

I hope you had a positive day today :)
