    NSD number 2 :T

Today I looked at some beef and I could not eat it. I am going off meat! I had to throw it away so I have wasted duck and beef this week. :( Not best pleased. I have a lentil curry thing defrosting so I will have that with some quinoa and broccoli instead.

I am still drained and sluggish.

I spoke to one of my best friends today. She lives in Australia and she is just going into Winter so I started thinking of Winter and then!!!8230;Christmas. Yup, you heard right !!!8212;Christmas.

I thought of how I want the house to have progressed by Christmas. I am only 6 pay days away from Christmas

    To be done by Christmas:
    Fascias temporary repaired
    New kitchen installed
    Large bay window replaced
    Safe electrics
Floor sanded, sealed and waxed in bedroom
    Bedroom decorated
    New front door
    Small sink in the toilet

The bathroom and fascias are next on the list but realistically they are big jobs and won!!!8217;t be done until 2019. I!!!8217;m especially sad about the bathroom but not everything can be done as Christmas is 6 pay days away and due to a 4 day week coming up, half of the pay days will be reduced by 20%

This thought motivated me to do the following:

Send an email chasing the kitchen planner
Organise a second quote for the windows

    Both done now :)

I hope you are having a good day

    The bit in bold^^^^^^^

Well thank you very much DIA (said in my best Margot Ledbetter voice which isn't easy with a black country accent). That's just put me off my pancakes.

    Panic, Panic, Panic. ;):p

Fantastic that he has managed to fit it in for you! You need to work out what your top priorities are and if a dishwasher is one then to hell with some drawers! Haha

I love it when a plan comes together.

It seems we both have pre-Christmas plans in place now - yours are home improvements and mine are debt overpayments. Its a good goal to work towards though, definitely start getting the feelers out for tradespeople sooner than later as finding and scheduling appointments with them is the most time consuming part as you know!
Thanks JoJo, you are right re trades. For the rest of the year I will need an electrician (one recommended but still getting 3 quotes and that will take time) I will need a decorator, more window quotes and a plumber. I will keep chipping away. Shout at me if I start slacking as like you I want to be at target come Christmas :)
    A dishwasher!!! So excited. :j

    Hi dia :hello:

Just finished reading your diary was all chuffed to see if inspired you with the weekly savings

Your kitchen sounds lovely I agree with making space for dishwasher as we did the same and it's invaluable xx
Thanks for subscribing Abba 1772 You do inspire me you are like a little Duracell bunny :)
I am getting so excited by the thought of an oven, a decent non leaking tap and a DISHWASHER. I have had none of these things for over 10 years. I am visualising putting a tray of cookies in the oven and it makes me feel so happy. I need to curb this excitement as I am along way off but by Autumn I hope this will be a reality :)

    Kitchen report
Just watched a programme about the Swedish store not honouring their 25 year guarantee. Hmm, better sell the house and move on quickly then ;)

I am taking the option of getting the Swedish store to install. I know it is more expensive but I think it will be worth it not to have to project manage different trades. It will be less stressful as I will know if anything goes wrong I can go back to the Swedish store to have it rectified.

I am buying my own washing machine as theirs is too expensive. I have a top loading washing machine that I have had over 10 years without an issue. It still works perfectly so sad to see it go but hopefully the BHF can pick it up for someone else to benefit from.

    NSD success
Anyway, as planned I am on my 3rd and final NSD of the week. I have done this without chocolate for 2 days, so especially pleased with myself. The £12 I had on Saturday remains untouched. I have made a frittata for tomorrow’s lunch and chopped up some peppers and carrot.

Looking forward to a coffee out of the house and some chocolate :)

I hope you have had a good day and find a way to treat yourself tomorrow. It doesn't have to cost money. It might be looking at a sunset :)

Loving your new kitchen plans and the dishwasher .

You are really getting your teeth into everything on your 20/20 list.

As for meat DIA I try to eat it about once a week with fish twice a week. I never freeze meat because I know I won't eat it again , the only exception to this is mincemeat .

I love vegetables, rice and pulses , Fruit as well , can never have enough of that.

NSD three well done , I am ok in the week with them it's weekend when I spend.

    Enjoy the weather.

It's funny that you talk about meat that way DIA - in the last few years (in fact, it's been since I was pregnant) I can take or leave meat. I still like it and i do still eat it with the majority of my meals (DH would be like - what? no meat??) but I sometimes feel funny about it.

In curries, I'd rather just have the mushrooms and onions and sauce with the rice and not bother with the chicken. I like things like chicken wings but don't like big chunks of chicken breast (too dry) and with other meats, i just feel a bit 'meh'. I do love a steak though...

It's funny how our tastes change, isn't it?

Well done on your NSDs! Hope that's helping in the slow descent to pay day.

Thanks Cumbria lass. My list is going well, trying to keep the momentum going.;)
I think my issue with food this month was I was trying to eat what I had and not shop.

Thanks JoJo. I agree re changing eating habits. I can't seem to get settled on food recently :o
A few NSDs are so helpful budget wise. Going to try for 2 a week as standard, hopefully more!
