    Morning

Scarlet Ribbons Congratulations granny ribbons :) So lovely to hear good news on the thread:)

Gers I have an inner chimp too and its very annoying (whiteguineapig its from a book called The Chimp Paradox one of my favourite non fiction books)

Busy one today I need to start tackling the enormous to do list as well as finish off the normal stuff from yesterday. So I'm tackling the freezer inventory this morning after my befriending call. Its a nasty job right up there with changing the bedding but thanks to my reluctance to keep it up to date then it has to be done :( I will be keeping it up to date for the next few weeks as I wont be doing it again.

Food last night was half a pizza with a big salad and a cream egg  ill have the other half tonight. Was going to nip out to get a couple of bits but the weather is dire and the shops will packed so im staying home and doing without.

Hope every one has a better day than I will.....freezer... Im coming in :D

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I slept 8hrs last night :j:j:j. It was the first night in I can't remember how long I didn't see 3am. I feel like a totally different woman this morning and even though it is perdiddling down outside it won't dampen my mood :D.

I am going to cook a full roast dinner today instead of tomorrow so will need to crack on with that in a little while. First of all Steve is going to make us some dippy eggs and soldiers for breakfast. The girls are still fast asleep so it's just Steve and myself to cater for :).

Congratulations to you and your DD ScarletRibbons, I'm glad he arrived safely in the end and he was a good weight. Hope your daughter makes a quick recovery x

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Scarlet Ribbons congratulations on the birth of the new grandson, I hope that your daughter recovers well.
dumpling the Sandman called here last night too, over 8 hours in one stretch, but gosh did I need to get to the bathroom quickly this morning:rotfl:
Nelski have fun with the freezer update, my freezer book is current, but freezer needs defrosting before we go away for May, weather forecast so awful for Monday I think I will suggest to OH that we get it done then.

We had scheduled a SM visit today in nearby town which has a good sized Mr M store, then on a further few miles to visit DM but, 2 PO deliveries due (living in hope as 1 was tracked for Thursday and didn't turn up), so will have to play it by ear:(

Stay dry and snug if you can, hugs and spoons as usual.

    Congratulations Scarletribbons!

I've been up since 3.21 precisely. I was awake before but reached the point where I couldn't stay in bed any longer. Tired now though.

I am going to see a friend later but looking forward to it less than usual as it is hissing down here.

OH will cook tonight, I'll do roast lamb tomorrow and a gammon joint on Monday. Gammon is half a huge one I got from a local butcher for a fiver and there should be leftovers. I think the lamb was Y'S too.

I'm still in my pjs, must go and have a shower and find some clean clothes. I did 3 wash loads yesterday and shouldn't think anything is dry.

Hope everyone has a good day
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

How lovely to be a granny again and what a good weight for the baby.

I want to go out and do a bit of food shopping later as older dd and sil are popping over on Monday for a late breakfast and a catch up and I don't know if middle dd and bf are coming over tomorrow or not.

Having a cup of tea and some porridge for breakfast and watching an old comedy with my feet up for the next hour or so and will start tidying the bedroom in the commercial breaks as everything tends to get lobbed in there- clothes airer, suitcase, parcels for dds, laundry etc. Once everything is sorted out and I have hoovered it should be a more calming place.

I have home made lamb stew in my (now sparkling clean ) fridge and some home made meals in the freezer so only need bread, milk , fruit and veg and some breakfast stuff unless I find out someone is calling tomorrow.

I have been trying to get more exercise and been very tempted by an online tv sale of a gadget that is supposed to help fitness and tone muscles. When the Easter deal made it £80 cheaper with a few interest free monthly payments I had a rush of blood to the head and went for it. My fancy pressure cooker is doing such a good job of making meals quickly and especially things that usually take hours like a lasagne base, curries etc. that I have been encouraged to try a few more gadgets to make life easier and / or healthier.

I am intrigued by "The Inner Chimp" so might have a look at that later.

    Hugs to all

    Congratulations SR.

There's not a lot going on here at the moment, it's a grey miserable day outside, DH is at the gym and the pup is lying on the rug fast asleep.

I bought steak in Lidl so I think we'll have that with baked potato and mushrooms and keep tomorrow as a fast day (if DH agrees).

I've had a frustrating time trying to make bias binding with a very tricky fabric and had just about given up when I found out about bias bars! It's time consuming but it works, I just hope I've got enough fabric left now to finish the project I'm working on.

We're trying to decide when to go up to Yorkshire, we were going to go on Monday but they are forecast snow again so we don't know.

    Morning all

No rain here atm but some due later on, dd and boyf are flying home today from Malta they have had glorious scorching weather so I have told her to wear a jumper on the plane as its still cold here, we are still lighting the fire each night.

Not too much to do today OH and I will have a clean / tidy through this morning and we have to take some photos of the kitchen floor to send off to the insurance people.

Thanks for all the comments yesterday, it must be something to do with my work then, unfortunately if its your weekend to work you have to do seven days unless you want to split your days off and have the Fri / Mon off, I do like having two days off together but may have to try this for next time, hopefully I will only have one or two weekends left as once the new build is open and I have my new job I will be Mon - Fri only with a very occasional weekend only by agreement, also once I have paid off my car loan I am going to drop down to four days a week which should help, thanks again xx

SR Congratulations on the new baby xx

Fajitas for dinner tonight the travellers will be tired so I shall cook for them too.

    Have good days all xx
  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one and a special for SR and her new grand son.

Nasty day here, grey, overcast and wet, yukkkk..... no real plans except to do a freezer audit, I need to go shopping next THursday, want to suss out what ingredients for meals I have in the freezers.

Very little done yesterday, had to change supper to egg, chips and beans, I could not find any fish..hey ho...Lamb out for tomorrow, will stab it and put garlic and rosemary in in before it goes into the bag with the red wine.

OH has got himself involved with the local history group, has spent the last 3 days with his head in his lap top, a bit annoying but keeps him out of my hair, except he will keep interrupting what I am doing to tell me what he has found.

Late up this morning, got up to the toilet at 7.45 and went back to sleep, after 9am when I woke.

No idea whats for supper, will have to see what I can liberate from the freezer.

Whilst I lay awake this morning I started to think about sleep. :rotfl:Seems that there are many folk here who have trouble with sleep, especially all through the night. As for me, my head hits the pillow and I’m asleep within ten minutes which, if science is correct, is not good even though I sleep soundly and mostly all night through. (If I time my last fluid intake properly!)

I found this article, and many others, about ‘two sleeps’.

    https://www.realclearscience.com/articles/2016/06/15/should_we_go_back_to_sleeping_twice_a_night_109670.html

Even Michael Mosley advocates it, if that’s a good reference.

I’m showered and almost dressed, sat down to put on my socks and did some more surfing. :o
