O/S Daily Saturday 31st March 2018

This is an !!!8220;over the garden fence!!!8221; type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It!!!8217;s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we!!!8217;re going to do today or what we!!!8217;ve achieved already. Everyone!!!8217;s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn!!!8217;t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don!!!8217;t post large pictures, or clip art !!!8211; links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don!!!8217;t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH and myself enjoying first peaceful cuppas, boys still in their pits. not expecting to see them anytime soon.

Dinner last night was fresh pork steaks, roast mini potatoes, carrots, peas, yorkshires and gravy. Tonight we've had a vote for takeaway pizza and chips. Lunch for tomorrow will be leg of lamb and all the trimmings.

Yesterday we enjoyed the event we went to but it was packed and at times it was difficult to get a good look at things, it was huge too.

So on to today -
I'll be going food shopping first thing for food to last us through the coming week. I'll also need to do some ironing, and more washing and drying. I'm hoping to get a trifle made too, that will use up some stocks as I have jelly, fruit and blancmange all in stock, cream is in the fridge too. Hoping not to spend too much though as need to make a big effort to get the fridge/freezer as empty as possible in the next 2 weeks.

We'll just be having a lazy day today I think.

Keep safe and well x

    Good morning folks.

Drizzly here, could be set for the day.

I managed to get to Kelvingrove yesterday, it was packed out. Coach loads of overseas visitors all over the museum. The CRM exhibition was very busy and I decided not to go through it, and it was £7.00 too. I’d seen enough of his work at other exhibitions so decided to not bother.

Had another TV free evening yesterday, very relaxing. DM wants me to stay until tomorrow so I feel I should do that. I’m trying to learn to say ‘no’ to the many demands made of my time (not to DM normally), it’s something to do with what’s called ‘ your inner chimp’. However, I can see a time when I’d give a lot to have one more day with DM so I’ll probabkt stay.

No idea what my day will bring so will go with the flow. I hope everyone is doing well abd has a happy Saturday.

    Morning all

I'm sure your DM appreciates you staying Gers, I feel the same coming here to stay with my Aunt, seems to be a bit of a chore until I get here and then I see how happy she is. She was extra happy yesterday as my cousin and her husband came for dinner. Thankfully we haven't heard from my other cousin (aunts DD), she's a horror.

Going for a swim then to see aged uncle, I doubt he will know who we are but he's always so lovely and polite. Will probably have something to eat out later.

I'll have to get up now, not sure what aunt finds to do outside the bedroom door but it makes a lot of noise!

Enjoy your day, take care. Xx

I need to google 'your inner chimp' I will put it on my list (along with finding out about the Roseanne revival series)
  • Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A Happy Easter one and all whatever your plans are.

I've had 2 visits from the Easter Bunny already. DS called yesterday with a big Dairy Box egg and DD left a goody bag on the step on her way to work this morning. Choccies and some Rhubarb and Ginger gin. DB also called yesterday but he wasn't an Easter Bunny! He brought some sausages for us to try out! He has been on the lookout for the perfect sausage since our original supplier retired last year. So far no luck but he says these are the best he has tried up to now! No guesses what we will be having for lunch and then I can cast our opinion!

Wet and miserable here but may trip into town on the bus at some point as I have a growing list of stuff I want to stock up on from the £ shop.

Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all wanting/needing them. Take care all xx

We will move of at some point, stop at Tesco and then look for some where to moor overnight.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning All,

Just popping on to wish everyone a very Happy Easter. Hope you all have a lovely long weekend.
Today I will be doing housework, popping to check on my moms house, and relaxing too.
Tomorrow I am cooking lunch for 5. I am bringing mom out of the Nursing Home and my DD and her BF are coming to lunch too.
Monday there may snow again, at the moment I think it is too wet to snow, but we shall see.

    Enjoy your weekend xx

    Morning everyone,

Dull and drizzly here today with not a breath of wind to move the clouds along their way so can’t see it changing soon, definitely a day for staying cosy and warm inside.
We had a smashing lunch out with DN’s yesterday, lovely to catch up on their lives and know I’m biased but they are both stunning young women, beautiful inside and out.
I did pop over to see Lu later in the afternoon but it was tipping it down so didn’t get her out of the stable, her lighter fleece rug had rubbed a sore spot at the top of her withers so cut up an old sheepskin girth sleeve and sewed that in to the rug, hopefully it will help.
Not sure about dinner today, my beloved is making noises about a chinese takeaway, haven’t had one for ages so might be good for a treat.

Have a good day folks x

Morning all. It's a nasty morning here, heavy rain and seems windy.
I haven't posted for a few days, or read back, so I don't know what everyone is up to. I'll read back later.

Dd had her baby on Wednesday evening, 7lb 12 oz. It was a difficult delivery, but it's over with and she's home now. 5 year old Dgd is delighted with him, wanting to hold him and feed him. I think she thinks he is a large doll.

Don't know what we are doing today, we'll see what happens.

Hope you all have a good day, take care folks
